Quality of education provided made me chose this institute to pursue PGDM, says Prasad Pol
After completing Class 10th, I had plans to pursue Computer Engineering as a career. But the main question was from where should I study engineering. After detailed research, I decided to do it from Vidyalankar Polytechnic, which is one of the best colleges to study a diploma course. After completing the diploma, I also tried to get admission in Vidyalankar School of Information Technology for Engineering Degree but I could not get in. After Graduation, I decided to undergo management degree. While searching I came to know that Vidyalankar School of Business has started a PGDM course. I got in touch with Admissions Department, cleared all the rounds of selection process and got admission. The main reason behind choosing Vidyalankar over other colleges is the quality of education provided. I was aware that the faculty was good as I completed my diploma from the same institute. It is like symbol of trust. It has huge campus in the heart of Mumbai with all required facilities that a B-school should have.
I appeared for MH-CET entrance test. For preparation, I didn’t join any coaching classes, rather I choose to prepare on my own.
To be eligible for admissions, one must have at least 50 per cent score across merit exams.
There are four stages to the admission process:
Stage 1: Duly filled application and pre-qualifying questionnaire form submission along-with academic documents and application fee of Rs 2,000
Stage 2: Short-listing for GD and Personal/Telephonic/Skype Interview Round with Interview Panel
Stage 3: Issue of Provisional Admission Offer Letter (Unconditional or Conditional)
Stage 4: Confirm your admission, if conditions met
The main challenge that I was facing was to clear the personal interview as it was last hurdle towards the goal of getting admission but I cleared that hurdle too and got admission.
Our college timings is from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm and in between, we have one hour lunch break and 2 short breaks. To spend free time in college we have too many options like:
- Library
- Indoor games like Pool, Table Tennis, Carom, and others
- Gaming Zone
- Karaoke Room
College has both the options to spend time for study as well as for entertainment. I am a member of Placement Committee of our college and was also holding the position of Class Representative (CR) for first semester.
As someone said our surrounding change our way of thinking, same is applicable in Vidyalankar. The campus is full of greenery you will feel pleasant and fresh. As I’m completing my PGDM from Vidyalankar School of Business, I know that it will help me to start my career with best of the companies across industry
I am going to take marketing as my specialisation. Opportunity which I see in future is to work with best companies as a designation of Head Marketing and after that some higher position. After working for sometime I would like to start my own business and become a successful entrepreneur.
