
Following the UGC guidelines 2020, SPPU declared the conduction of examination for the final year students.
Savitribai Phule Pune University, SPPU, or Pune University declared the conduction of examination for the final year students. According to the reports, SPPU will follow the UGC guidelines and conduct written examination for final year students in July. The examinations would be conducted from July 1 to July 31 in the written format.
Talking about the scheduled exams, SPPU director incharge, evaluation, and examination, Arvind Shaligram revealed, “the decision to conduct the examination for final year students was taken after the varsity received a letter from the state government to conduct exams”
While talking to the media, Mr Shaligram said, “After deliberations with the board of deans and professors, we will be holding written exams in July for final year students across all faculties.” He further added, “Moreover, the decision to conduct written examination against that of an online exam was done as the evaluation of these exams has not proven sanctity of 100 percent result in multiple-choice questions.”
According to the data released by SPPU, a total of 2,50,000 students are waiting to appear for the examination this year. An seven to eight papers are to be conducted for these students. Students who have backlog in final year would also appear for the exam. The source suggests that SPPU would conduct exam in a batch-wise format. Mr. Shaligram said,“We have collated all the data, the availability of the number of classes in colleges which will help decide upon the available infrastructure for the seating arrangement.”
The University cannot opt the online mode to conduct exams as students of the varsity are not that tech-savvy. Also, many students are located in places where connectivity is a major issue. Exam pattern and SPPU revised time table for final year exams will be published on its official website soon after a discussion.
