Delhi Government has decided to shut down colleges and coaching centres in view of the recent spike in COVID19 cases informed Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia. He also postponed the remaining CBSE 9th, 11th examinations 2021 in Delhi government schools at least till April 20. The new dates will be declared soon.

Speaking on the presence of teachers during the period of closure of schools and colleges in Delhi, Sisodia told that there will not be any centralised directive in this regard and schools will take a call on whether teachers need to report at the school for online classes, or conduct them remotely.

Amid a surge in coronavirus cases, the Delhi government ordered the suspension of physical academic activities and offline examinations for all classes till further orders. The Directorate of Education (DoE) said in an order, "All schools are, hereby, informed that the conduct of all academic and examination activities through physical mode shall remain suspended with immediate effect till further orders."

The new academic session 2021-22 in Delhi began on April 1 in the virtual mode.
