There are nine different MDS specailisation courses available at MDS at Amrita School of Dentistry in addition to the standard MDS course. These specialisations include the following:

• Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology & Microbiology
• Public Health Dentistry
• Oral Medicine & Radiology
• Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
• Periodontics, Conservative & Endodontics
• Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopaedics
• Paediatric & Preventive Dentistry
• Prosthodontics & Crown & Bridge

There are traditionally four rounds of NEET counseling. These are as follows: Round 1, Round 2, Round 3, and Stray Vacancy Round. If seats remain vacant even after the stray vacancy round, then there will be an additional seat allocation round. Of these, three will be conducted in online mode by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). To participate in the AIQ seat allocation, students need to complete the registration process on the official website of MCC. For state quota seats, students will have to register on the respective state NEET website. In the year 2024, as of now, MCC has conducted seven rounds in total. The number may further increase in case there are more vacant seats. 

The NEET-UG exam serves as the basis for Amrita School of Dentistry's BDS programme admissions. To be qualified for the course, students must have completed Senior Secondary 10+2 in English and PCB Physics Chemistry and Biology with at least a 50% grade. After passing the BDS examination, candidates must have completed their rotational internship for at least a year.
