The majority of students noted that the two-hour time limit was sufficient to attempt the 140 questions, and the absence of negative marking gave them the confidence to attempt more questions. Students also appreciated the preparatory support provided by free mock tests from various sources, including the official IBS website (www.ibsindia.org), the IBS mobile app, and popular edu-portals. Overall, the test was considered manageable and of moderate difficulty, requiring critical thinking skills to come to the fore.

IBS Applications were open to all CAT/ XAT / NMAT by GMAC™/ GMAT™ applicants having valid scores.

The eligible scores are mentioned as below-

  • GMAT™ score of 500 and above
  • CAT score of 60 percentile and above
  • NMAT by GMAC™ score of 150 and above
  • XAT score of 60 percentile and above

The scores from 2023 onwards were accepted.

The IBS selection process was held from 14 to 22 February 2026. The selection process consisted of a personal interview and a micro-presentation. The micro presentation topics were general in nature and chosen randomly from a pool of 1–100. An option to choose one more topic was provided in case the candidate was not comfortable with the first selected topic.

The NMAT applicants, even if they selected ICFAI Business School (IBS) as a choice after their NMAT test, could apply to IBS separately by paying the INR 1800 application fee, like all other applicants.

The XAT-2026 applicants could submit their IBS application and update their score.

IBS Bangalore MBA fees of INR 13.05 Lakhs covers tuition costs only. Your regular living expenses, food bills, and hostel stay charges are completely extra. You must budget for these personal costs separately before moving to the city. The campus team can help you find good nearby housing options.
