MBA College Selection: Key Highlights

When selecting CAT 70 percentile colleges or CAT 80 percentile colleges, keep in mind the following:

  • Check for lowest and highest CAT cut offs of last year as it will give you an idea as to what will be the cut offs for the upcoming academic year.
  • Check out its eligibility criteria. For full-time MBA programme, the minimum eligibility requirement in 50 per cent in aggregate (45 per cent for SC/ST/PwD candidates)
  • Check MBA admission criteria and selection process. Most of the colleges accepting 80 percentile in CAT have WAT/GD and PI.
  • Some colleges conduct WAT-PI whereas some conduct GD-PI. Prepare for the same as they play a very important role in candidate's selection.
  • Check out MBA courses and specialisations offered by the college. Check reviews by ex-students to know the actual credibility of the college.
  • Check out location, boarding facilities, infrastructure, pedagogy, industry programmes and placements.
  • Check out fees and scholarships. Opt for a college whose fees you can afford, as you wouldn't like to drop the course midway for lack of financial resources.
