Q:   Can I get direct admission to an MBA programme at UPES School of Business?
A: 

No, candidates are not allowed to get direct admission to MBA courses. UPES admission to MBA course is based on national or university-level entrance exams. The university accepts CAT/ CUET PG + PI scores for providing admission. In case, an aspirant fails to secure the minimum marks* specified by the university, he or she will need to appear for UPESMET. It is an online entrance exam conducted for a duration of 2.5 hours. UPESMET sections include English, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude and Analytical Reasoning. For admission to Global MBA, aspirants only need to come for the PI round. The shortlisted candidates will be called for group discussion and personal interview round for further selection. After completion of the selection rounds, candidates are called for document verification. Aspirants need to pay a course fee to confirm their seat in the university.

As per the specified eligibility criteria, candidates seeking admission to BCom at UPES School of Business Studies are required to have passed Class 10 and Class 12 with a minimum aggregate of 50%. Candidates from all streams (Science/ Commerce/ Arts) are eligible to apply. Hence, Mathematics is not compulsory for BCom admission at UPES School of Business.

My college was overall very good.
Placements: 30% of students were placed in my batch of B.Com out of the whole batch. The package was average. The highest package was 4-5 LPA and the lowest package was 2-3 LPA but it was the time just after COVID so the placement record was average. Most of the offers were from sales in B.Com.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are fully furnished and the seating arrangement is good in the classrooms. We had full access to the smart boards and everything in the ventilation system was good. The library was fully furnished, and quiet and comfortable seats were there for 9 hr access every day. The library was centralized. Facilities were good in the hostel. Rooms were fully furnished and connected washrooms were available. Some rooms had air conditioning. The food in the mess was good. There was a convenience store in the hostel from which you could get your daily needs stuff and a salon was there inside the hostel.
Faculty: All the faculty members were very cooperative, helpful, understanding, and very qualified staff. We learned good things from them. The course and curriculum are relevant practical knowledge was also provided by the college. Exams were not so difficult.
Other: I chose B.Com because I wanted to do my family business. Fest was very good and entertaining in our college they used to invite influencers, singers, writers, etc.

It is an amazing place to study.
Placements: Placements at UPES are great. In my batch, almost 90% of students who enrolled to sit for placement got placed. The average package is 3 LPA in decent companies. Many top companies come to the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies such as Accenture, E&Y, Amazon, Aditya Birla Group, etc.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is great. I lived in the campus hostel for 2 years, and rooms are good. The food is well-prepared and delicious. Cleanliness is well-maintained. Wardens are also good. The library area is excellent with good reading space and all amenities. Wi-Fi works amazingly. Classrooms, playgrounds, and everything is good here.
Faculty: Professors are supportive and good in their fields. Most of them are from IITs and IIMs which brings them a lot of knowledge. They are very helpful. Exams vary based on subjects, and some are easy and some are difficult. It has the best faculty members ever.
Other: I chose this course because BBA is a rare field especially when we want to put ourselves in the business world, especially marketing which is base of any business. I would rate 10 out of 10 the course taught in UPES with a lot of practical learning and field exposure.

Good college overall but the fees are high
Placements: As it is stated that there is 100% placement, the answer is "Yes," it happens, and I am still a student, so I know these things. Deloitte, oil and energy sector companies, consulting firms like Bain, Deloitte, KPMG, Accenture, ONGC, Britannia, Infosys, and many more come for placements.
Infrastructure: Yes, all the amenities are provided for the proper functioning of the institution. There is a mess, food court, gym, ground, sports equipment, 24/7 medical facilities for hostel students, RO water, and Wi-Fi throughout the campus. Every professor is provided with a microphone, and projectors are installed.
Faculty: Yes, the teachers are well-qualified and helpful. They have a proper understanding of their sectors. As we live in a modern world, we need to apply new and innovative strategies to cope with the market. Consulting is a profession where we must provide solutions after thorough analysis.
Other: The fees of the college are not worth it, as it provides you with placement, but there are good colleges and places where you can learn the same for less. Apart from being costly, everything is fine. There are different clubs, committees, scholarships based on merit, and a 30% domicile discount.

The facilities provided are good.
Placements: All students are placed after graduation. The highest salary after BBA from UPES has been 30 LPA, while the lowest has been zero. It may take some time to know how many students have been placed this year.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure at SOB is pretty good, with good ventilated rooms for students. There are no air conditioners in the SOB building, but the new building has air conditioners and other facilities. There are two playgrounds and one basketball and volleyball court.
Faculty: The faculty is top-notch and very helpful. They are always willing to assist students with any problems they may have. The college has a very strict attendance policy, so students need to be mindful of that. Other than that, it's a good college with a good student body.
Other: This course particularly has future scope and this was the sole purpose of choosing this course. Fests and events happen but mostly in Bidholi (the main campus).

A good experience of UPES.
Placements: Around 94% of students were placed in my course. The highest package is 29 lacs. The average is 6.5 lacs. And the lowest is 4.5 lacs. Hyundai, Reliance and Maruti are the top recruiting companies of this course. Around 90% of students get internships in this course.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure in our college are brilliant. The Wi-Fi is fantastic, and the classrooms are well designed and organized. As well, the library has a wide range of books available. The food in the canteen is good. And the sports and games available on campus are quite decent.
Faculty: The teachers are very qualified and professional and experts in their fields. They are quite good at distributing knowledge among the students. The teaching quality is also very decent. The difficult level in the semester exams is moderate. The pass percentage is around 40%.
Other: The best thing about this course, for which I have chosen it, is that it offers two specializations: banking, insurance, and e-commerce.

UPES, Dehradun: A holistic campus experience for MBA aspirants.
Placements: The placements percentage is 100% as all the MBA students get placed here. The lowest package offered is 6 LPA, the average package is 14 LPA and the highest package offered is above 30 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Ey, Accenture, Infosys, Deloitte, Gail, Shell, Essar and many others. 100% students got internships.
Infrastructure: Talking about the infrastructure, all the classrooms are equipped with smart boards and projectors along with Wi-Fi facilities and a digital library. Hostel is also good as the food quality is good. There are cafes and food courts available in the college. There are medical facilities provided having a tie up with Synergy hospital for emergencies.
Faculty: The faculty is supportive and protective, they’re all from IIMs and some of them have worked for top companies. They are making the students ready for industry and for the corporate world. The passing percentage is 40 out of 100. There are mid semester and end semester examinations held.
Other: I chose this course of MBA in Oil and Gas Management because it is a specialized course provided only by UPES, Dehradun. Thisncourse helps in regulation of the energy sector. Also MBA in Oil and Gas Management is a course in which the placements package is high.

A: 

UPESMET application fee is INR 1350. Candidates aspiring admission to MBA programme of UPES Business School must fill the online application form. To complete the registration process, candidates must fulfill the prescribed eligibility criteria and pay the UPESMET application fee for successfull submission of application form. UPESMET 2026 registrations for phase 1 has commenced online. The UPESMET application fee for all categories is same.

Q:   Is MAT required for MBA at UPES School of Business?

Along with MAT, UPES also accepts scores from entrance exams like CAT, XAT, GMAT, NMAT by GMAC., MAT is accepted but not compulsory for MBA admission at UPES. Q:   When will CUET 2025 registration start for admission to BBA courses at UPES School of Business?
A: 

CUET exam dates 2025 will be announced soon. Candidates can know the tentative exam date for CUET UG. Candidates preparing for CUET UG must stay updated with the important dates. NTA will commence the CUET registration 2025 in last week of February soon after the release of notification. Candidates will be able to apply online for UG entrance exam. CUET 2025 is expected to be held in May/June 2025. The exam will be held in CBT mode.

The BBA Global Pathway programme at UPES School of Business is a four-year undergraduate degree programme that includes, two years of study at the UPES campus and one/ two years at a prestigious international university. The selection criteria/eligibility and admission process for this course are slightly different from the other BBA courses offered by the university. The UPES Business School BBA GPP admission involves multiple steps, for better understanding check out the steps given below:

  1. Interested students must fulfil the prescribed minimum eligibility requirements for BBA Global Pathway Programme: Minimum 50% marks in Class 10 and 12.
  2. Students need to fulfil the first two years of academic requirements in UPES.
  3. Students must score a CGPA of 5.5 or more to be eligible to apply to UQ.

A: 

Admission to all the programmes is either entrance or merit-based. Candidates are shortlisted based on the marks obtained in respective qualifying/ entrance exams, followed by GDPI and PI. Admission to various courses is based on merit and accepted entrance exam scores. The accepted entrance exams are MAT, XAT, CAT, NMAT, CMAT, UPESMET, CUET-PG, CUET, UGAT, UPESMET UG, and others.

How are KSKVKU, Bhuj placements as compared to School of Business, UPES?
