The Asian College of Journalism, Chennai was founded by the Indian Express Group (1994). Its ownership has now been taken over by the Media Development Foundation (2000). Over the years, it has taught some popular folks in the media. Some of its notable almuni include Rohan Joshi (stand-up comic and social media personality), Shaili Chopra (business journalist), Manju Latha Kalanidhi (journalist), Shiv Aroor (Managing Editor, NDTV), etc. They offer a PG Diploma in Business and Financial Multimedia Journalism and a PG Diploma in Integrated Multimedia Journalism. Allegedly, their number of placement percentage has been nearly 100% in thje last few years. The facilities at their campus include 10 large computer labs, a large hightech multimedia lecture hall, several classrooms equipped with modern teaching aid, a spacious and well stocked library, a workshop facility and a seminar room, print and new media edit desks with the latest production software, 2 digital TV studios with multi-camera shooting floors and attached production control rooms, a digital studio section equipped for audio recording, editing and multi-track mixing, and an enourmous auditorium.
