The campus of the college was small but spacious enough. There was no hostel facility offered at our college.
Faculty: Yes, all the professors and supporting staff at our college were qualified and knowledgeable. Teachers properly guided us and helped us gain all the required skills in this field. The course curriculum was relevant. The college was making the students job-ready. Exams were of moderate difficulty level.

You ACJ only once- get groomed here.
Placements: ACJ provides placements to its students. But on some instances like the years of election or demonetization the process gets hampered as most of the media companies does not turn up. This time due to general elections at least 20 people are still left to placed. Companies like News 18, wion, reuturs, bloomberg, republic, mirror now comes. Average salary is 3.6l P. A.
Infrastructure: As a part of ACJ we could not ask for better, with fully furnished 7 to 8 computer labs, we have India's only integrated newsroom and also proper furnished newsroom studios and advanced camcorders for the television student. The hostels have Wi-Fi and canteens provide meals four times a day.
Faculty: ACJ has four streams TV, radio, print and new media. There is a separate course on business journalism for the people who wanted to pursue this. I was TV student and we were taught by BBC journalists and veteran Indian Media professionals. Hindu editor N Ram is a frequent speaker of our college. The course also have elective subjects which student need to choose. And they are taught some of the best people in that field. For eg Talking Cinema is taught by Bharadwaj Rangan.
Other: They provide scholarship to saarc students. A lot of events does happen at ACJ which are mostly book launches, debates by eminent people, etc.

Asian College of Journalism provides excellent practical knowledge.
Placements: If not 100% of students, at least 90% of students get placed over a month. Top news channels like Mirror Now, Times Now, Republic, CNN, and CNBC recruit from ACJ. Newspapers like Times of India, The Hindu, Deccan Herald, and Economic Times also recruit students.
Infrastructure: The building has recently been renovated. Hence, it is modern. The entire campus is Wi-Fi enabled. All the labs and studios are modern and standard. The production studios and classrooms are well maintained. The library is extensive with subscriptions to most important journals. The hostel can be a bit hot.
Faculty: The course curriculum is lengthy but detailed. Many may feel stressed, but it is necessary and worth it. The course is a mixture of practical and theory. Moreover, professors ensure that the students also have a lot of on-field experience. Faculty members have a lot of experience, and they teach well.

This is the best place to go to if journalism is your subject.
Placements: The placements that ACJ offers are the maximum that you can get out of a J-School in India. Placement rates stand at more than 95% of the total strength. The average starting salary is Rs. 3.6L p.a. Bigshot companies like CNN, The Times Group, Republic, The Indian Express, The Hindu, etc. Recruit from ACJ. The students are offered with the roles based on their performance in the placement examinations and the interviews.
Infrastructure: All the classrooms at ACJ are smart classrooms. The Wi-Fi connectivity speed is good, but it is accessible only once the class hours are over, which is a problem. The library is ever growing and has a good collection of books. The canteen provides average food, and the hostel rooms are average too. There is no provision for outdoor games though. The only games you can play are table tennis, badminton and foods ball.
Faculty: The faculty are the best part about ACJ. Everyone is highly qualified, helpful and knowledgeable. The student to faculty ratio is completely dependent on the stream and the subgroup that each student is a part of. The course curriculum is excellent. The exposure that each student receives is just what the media world wants.
Other: The students may land scholarships based on merit-cum-means. Education for students from SAARC countries is completely free. Wi-Fi connectivity remains somewhat strong throughout the campus. Mobile network, though, is a big issue. Also, the campus is a bit remote and lies away from all the hustle and bustle.

Asian College Of Journalism - The best crash-course In journalism.
Placements: The placements for my batch were good. Almost everyone had a job by the end of the college and those who didn't come by 2019, were assisted by the teachers, many of whom were well-reputed journalists themselves and found jobs within the first few months after college ended. I was placed with the Cable News Network (CNN) in Delhi and left there almost immediately. I worked as a senior desk editor at CNN for three years before I moved on to my next job. Several news outlets and publishing houses visited the college during the placements. The pay offered was satisfactory to almost all the students. Since the course is a very intensive PGD programme, students are not required to do an internship.
Infrastructure: The Asian College of Journalism is undoubtedly one of India's 2019s most premium institutions to study journalism and train to be a journalist both on the field and in the newsroom. Most students stay at the hostel, considering the distance of the campus from the city centre, but also because most of them are not day scholars and come to Chennai from various parts of the country making the Asian College experience which is truly a diverse one. The hostel is an experience in itself, people from all walks of lives come together to stay here. One can almost, always find a musician singing loud on the front lawn and people sprawling across the grass, reading, writing or simply looking at the sky at dusk. Elaborate studios are set-up for both the television and the RADIO news productions. Also, the state-of-the-art computer labs are set up for news media and print students. The canteen also offers both the nutritional food and the snack time grub.
Faculty: The faculty at the Asian College of Journalism are mostly journalists working in some capacity with and at The Hindu-2019, a newspaper daily that has an extremely wide readership all across the country. Barring a few instances, the daily remains mostly center-left in terms of political ideology. However, there are other professors who are considered experts in the field. Persons like the P. Sainath, Sadanand Menon, Bhardwaj Rangan, Nithyanand Jeyaram, Shashikumar, all teach at the college regularly or are the guest faculty. The curriculum is simple, the mornings are spent focusing on the foundation of Journalism, while the afternoons are spent learning specializations (Print, Television, New Media or Radio). All the students are expected to choose one of the four specialisations even before the interview process begins.
