Absolutely highly satisfied with my college. It was a great college with reasonable fees.
Placements: As I pursued a B.Sc. in Physiology from this college, I realized that after completing a B.Sc., you don't get any placement opportunities. You need to complete your M.Sc. for that, and this college didn't provide M.Sc. facilities for B.Sc. students. However, they made sure that you were fully prepared to get admitted into prestigious universities. For me, I easily cracked PUMDET and got admitted to Presidency University for my M.Sc. after completing my B.Sc. from Bhairab Ganguly College. I can't say for other departments, but the information about my department of Physiology is genuine, and I can confirm.
Infrastructure: The Department of Physiology was an excellent opportunity for students willing to pursue their careers in the field of Biology. Free Wi-Fi, clean labs, individual hands-on experience, peaceful classrooms and library, and excellent professors. Though the college didn't have its hostel as it offered only up to graduation, I can say about the canteen food. It was healthy, tasty at its peak, and very reasonably priced.
Faculty: Professors were brilliant, with a vast array of knowledge. They fully prepred us for our upcoming M.Sc. entrance. I didn’t face any problems, I can guarantee that. The semesters were moderately tough to prepare us accordingly. The pass percentage was more than 40%, which we could score easily under their guidance.
Other: I chose this course because I wanted a career in Biology, and my decision was worth it. Fests, campus life, and extracurricular activities were incredible. I could enjoy freedom and roam peacefully without any fear of antisocial activities. The campus was very safe for boys and girls.

A good government-sponsored college.
Placements: The placement ratio is very low, but our placement cell is active. It works for our students regarding any queries related to placements and arriving companies. Many students from Mathematics, Computer Science, Electronics, and Commerce get placed. Many of the alumni are working for companies like TCS, Accenture, and so on.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is good compared to other government-sponsored colleges. Wi-Fi facility is available, and labs and library are well maintained. Classrooms are decent, with proper desks and seating arrangements. The canteen is average, but you will get freshly cooked food.
Faculty: Faculty members varies from course to course. For Mathematics, it is good. I genuinely have good professors who spend more time on concept clearing rather than syllabus completion. However, the syllabus is completed within the semester. We often have alumni lectures and seminars.
Other: I have a very good friend circle in the college. All of my friends are new. I have had them since the very first year. My batchmates are also good, they help me whenever I miss lectures or classes.

Affordable course, but lacks exposure and campus life.
Placements: Placements in our course are below average. Only around 30-40% of students got placed. Highest salary package offered was around 5-6 LPA. Lowest salary package offered was 2 LPA. Average salary package of approximately 3 LPA. A few students got internships, mostly in small startups. Top roles were in support or basic development, and very few well-known companies visited our campus. Most students rely on off-campus opportunities for better placement chances. Overall, placement support from college is not very strong, and students have to make individual efforts for jobs and internships.
Infrastructure: Facilities in our department are average. Wi-Fi is slow and often unreliable. Labs have only basic equipment and need modernization. Classrooms are functional but require better maintenance. Library is decent with a fair collection of books. Hostel facilities are manageable, but rooms are small and not very clean. Food in mess and canteen is average, with limited variety. Sports and games facilities are very limited, and there's not much encouragement for extracurricular activities. Medical help is available, but not very responsive or efficient in emergencies. Overall, infrastructure could be much better.
Faculty: Teachers are generally helpful, supportive, and have good subject knowledge. Teaching quality is decent, and most try to make topics clear. Curriculum is somewhat relevant but outdated in parts and lacks industry-aligned practical skills. It needs revision to match current tech demands. Semester exams are moderately difficult, not too tough if you study regularly. Pass percentage ranges between 60% to 80%, so most students clear exams with average preparation. However, more focus on hands-on learning and real-world applications would definitely improve the overall course effectiveness.
Other: I chose B.Sc. Computer Science out of interest. Syllabus needs to be updated. It has less practical exposure. Events, fests, and campus life are dull, crowd is average. Connectivity is poor, and there are few extracurricular activities. But the fees are very low, which makes it excellent and affordable for students.

Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) - Batch of 2025

Our great Bhairab Ganguly College.
Placements: Currently, there are many students who are doing B.A. from Bhairab Ganguly College. There is an average package, of course, from 3k to 5k, which is affordable in my opinion. Overall, I would like to say that I'm happy with this course, and I believe that it will give me more opportunities in the future.
Infrastructure: In my opinion, Bhairab Ganguly College has good infrastructure. Classrooms are big and clean. In the library, we have good facilities for studying. There are facilities provided for playing sports like cricket, football, table tennis, badminton, kho, etc.
Faculty: Teachers are very good in college. They provide study material. They also motivate us for upcoming exams, and their behaviour is amazing too. If we talk about semester exams, then I would like to say that exams happen in discipline, but the timing is too short. 1.5 hours should be given for students to complete the paper.
Other: I chose this course because the subjects in it are not too difficult, and we can learn and improve our skills with it. One thing I would wish was that exam times were extended because one hour is not enough to write 15-page answers. Our college organizes a freshmen party every year. Bhairab Ganguly College always focuses on social work so that they can provide a message to youth about social work and culture. The government gives us a 12k scholarship every year of college, and this scholarship is called Swami Vivekananda merit cum. Extracurricular activities often happen at our college. For example, planting trees, giving humanity a message through advertising, and many more.

Placements: It is a very good college for the Bachelor in commerce. Every year 40-50% students gets the placement from this college. Regional companies visits the campus for the placements. The average package is 3-4 LPA. Many students gets internship. College placements cell is not much active and developed.
Infrastructure: College campus is spread in a wide area. There are different department for the different courses. There are all necessary facilities available in the college. The college has labs and libraries for the students. The libraries contains all the study materials. The hostel is also good and rooms are also clean big. The hostel mess is hygienic and tasty food.
Faculty: The college has the average teachers who can teach us properly. Teachers used to guide us on regular basis. All the teachers are helpful towards the students. They try all the method to make us understand the complex matter in easy way. The semester exam are of easy difficult level
.
Other: It is value for money place. Various sports activities are conducted in college.

Satisfied because of faculty, good placements every year.
Placements: 90% of students are placed every year in my course. The highest package was around 3 Lacs per month and the lowest is minimum around 25, 000. Top recruitment companies are mainly pharmaceutical companies and medical companies. Around 80% of students get internship from my course to various pharmaceutical companies, Brain Cancer hospitals etc. From this course you can become a scientist, a professor, a physiologist etc.
Infrastructure: Our Human Physiology department has 3 labs and a library in it. It is also a free Wi-Fi zone. Our department has one lecture room with smart classroom facilities. All labs are equipped with all type of needed things. You can get foods in cheap rate at our canteen. The food quality is good. Our college has North 24 Pargana's the biggest indoor stadium. There is a big playground. A swimming pool is under construction. There is also a AC Multi Gymnasium.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful and they are highly qualified. I am very grateful, having this type of teachers. There are various type of curriculum in my course. It will make you industry ready. The semester exams are slightly tough, but it will be easy for you if you follow the teachers guidelines. Around 95% students pass in every semester.
Other: I have choose this course because I love Biology and it is a Biology based course. From this course you will get a brief description of our Human body from outside and inside both. I think there is nothing to improve in this course because we have all that thing which is needed. Our college organise freshers party for welcoming new students. College fest take place on December. Also there is various types of events happen every year in our college. Our college campus is very big in size. There are various types of scholarships given by our college. Our college has NCC camps, Football team, Cricket team etc.
