Whenever you are considering any college for pursuing PGDM or MBA just the placement figures cannot be the only factor to be considered. You should try to collect information about the following:
A) the brand value of the institute in the market
B) exposure which you are getting in the institute due to its location due to its record of consistent academic quality
C) brands coming for the placement
D) lastly the placement figures with respect to different specializations like marketing, Finance, HR etc. So, firstly, brand-wise Welingkar Mumbai is a very strong brand as compared to BIMTECH Greater Noida. Welingkar is a very old and strong brand since early 1990 whereas BIMTECH Greater Noida became a brand when it is started performing good after the global recession of 2009. Secondly, you get a very good exposure when you are studying in the financial capital of India Mumbai but this Mumbai never limits placement performance of Welingkar with respect to marketing specialization. They do provide very good placement around 8 Lacs rupees per annum CTC. Thirdly, even if you consider the ranking Welingkar Mumbai is amount top 30 institutes of India whereas BIMTECH is among the top 45. Thus we can conclude that BIMTECH is a very good management institute for marketing placement but Welingkar Mumbai is better. Good luck.

The cut-off is not pre-defined at BIMTECH. It depends upon the quality & number of applications received and varies from year to year for different courses. Moreover, score of CAT/XAT/GMAT/CMAT/MAT is not the sole criteria for admission. The admission is based on the overall merit score which is calculated on the basis of different parameters and weightage. Candidates are shortlisted on the basis of CAT/XAT/GMAT/CMAT/MAT score for the further selection process of written aptitude and personal interview round.

Median package is all about at what range most of the students in the college secured placement. Suppose there are 14 students in a college such that 2 of them got 10 LPA, another two got 2 LPA and remaining 10 of them got 6-7 LPA. Then the median package of the college will come around 6.

In a nutshell, BIMTECH is totally worth giving a chance. A decade back BIMTECH was called an uprising and promising MBA institute but it couldn't deliver on its promise. It's fees kept rising but the quality of academics, professors, industry recognition, and placements declined. XIME Bangalore is a good college in terms of placement, faculty & Study Environment. XIME welcomes companies to visit the campus for familiarization and giving Pre-Placement talks to the students. It takes the admission through CAT XAT CMAT MAT GMAT.
