It is worth paying for the B.Tech. in Chemical Engineering at Coimbatore Institute of Technology, as one alumnus recommends choosing CIT over Amrita, citing its infrastructure and ability to push students to achieve their goals. However, another alumnus had a negative experience, stating that the college is one of the worst and that good placement requires "ass licking" the placement department. The job market for chemical engineers can be narrow and low-paying, but pursuing an MS in the field can provide a career boost. The salary range for chemical engineers can vary from 1.2 lakh to 8 lakh per annum, with big companies offering packages between 6-8 lakh per annum.
