CIT admission is completely entrance/counselling based and is conducted by DOTE Chennai. The institute offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral courses across 13 departments such as Civil Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Physics, and Mathematics, among others. The institute also offers an Integrated MSc of five-year duration. Candidates can apply for admission to the course of their choice via online mode. Candidates must have passed Class 12 in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics, or equivalent with a minimum of 45% aggregate. In addition to this, students need to appear for TNEA counselling or the Single Window Admissions System. Single Window Admissions System is used in Anna University for TNEA (Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission). It is popularly known as Anna University Counselling and is part of the process via which students completing Class 12 apply and secure admission to Engineering colleges within Tamil Nadu. The important strategy is that the counselling is conducted based on rank list, if a student is present for counselling then without allocating a college and course for that student, next rank cannot be allocated with a seat.

Placements: As of now, 10 percent of students are placed in my department with different packages, companies, and countries. The average package is 5 LPA, the highest is 13 LPA, and the lowest is 2.45 LPA. Toshiba and Infosys are some top recruiters. Alongside placements, CIT emphasizes internships as a crucial part of the curriculum. These internships provide practical experience, enhance employability, and often lead to job offers.
Infrastructure: CIT features well-designed, spacious classrooms equipped with modern teaching aids such as projectors and smart boards, facilitating an interactive learning experience. The college provides state-of-the-art laboratories for various engineering disciplines. These labs are equipped with advanced instruments and technology, supporting hands-on learning and research activities.

I like the infrastructure and the campus very much.
Placements: From the 5th semester onwards, it’s eligible to attend campus placements. I have been placed in TATA ELXSI. Many good companies visited the college, such as Wipro, Soliton, Econ, TCS, TATA ELXSI, Amazon, Cognizant, Kaar Technologies, KPIT Technologies, Johnson Control, Emphasis, Traid Software, Accenture, Newgen Software, BNP Paribas, Presidio, and Ernst & Young Global.
Infrastructure: There will be 28+ clubs in CIT, such as Rotaract, Nature Club, Literary Club, EBSB, KKC, MAC, and so on. The extracurricular activities are amazing, and there will be daily sports practice for football, volleyball, cricket, and so on. There will be good facilities in the classrooms for the students to enhance their knowledge. There will be huge benefits for the students due to their access to the library, and different fests will be conducted frequently.
Faculty: The faculty here is highly professional and supports us very much. Teachers here are highly educated and share their experiences with us. Exams happen often; every couple of months, we have two exams per semester. I found the staff to be very supportive; the college is very good.

Good faculty, not bad classrooms and infrastructure, and average placements.
Placements: Since everyone is currently facing a recession, placement is lower than usual, the average salary is around INR 12 lacs, and only 50% of the students are currently placed in the final year. Various companies come in search of students, both service- and product-based companies.
Infrastructure: The hostel mess is not that good, but the infrastructure is pretty decent, mostly sufficient for everyone, including labs and classrooms. It is pretty difficult for day scholars to participate in any kind of sport activity because of the timing, but the club activities are good.
Faculty: The faculty are pretty decent; they are mostly knowledgeable, and most of them are pretty helpful. The courses are updated and industry-ready, and we think they would be pretty helpful for the industries. The exams are mediocrely difficult, but most can be cleared.

Good college with excellent placement records.
Placements: Our batch is 2020-2024 and I belong to CSE Department. The percentage of students placed are around 60–70%. The highest package was 52 Lacs per annum and the lowest was 2–3 Lacs per annum. Top recruiting companies is D. E. Shaw, offering 52 Lacs per annum. Around 50% of students got internship by D. E. Shaw, MBRDI, Root quotient, etc. The roles offered vary. But some of them are developers by SDET.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure are good. Computer labs have Wi-Fi facilities. The classrooms have smart boards, etc. The hostel's quality was mediocre. The food is like all other hostel food. We can't expect food to be great in hostel. We have a separate canteen where we have to pay eat.
Faculty: The curriculum was good. The teachers are helpful and qualified enough. The course syllabus is relevant as knowledge; as I am from CSE, we had subjects like data structures, database management systems, machine learning, etc. The semester exams are not that tough. I would say. You would be able to attempt all the questions if you referred to the question papers from last year.
Other: I chose CSE because I am interested in computer science. I think they can keep the course syllabus even more practical. Speaking about events, CIT has a lot of events, and there are around 30 clubs. There are scholarships available too, particularly for students.

Coimbatore institute of Technology.
Placements: One of the best colleges in Coimbatore for Construction Management. Many big companies like L&T, M Moser, Adani infra etc. participate in the on campus drive. Many students get above 4.5LPA package. After selection in the company, we have a trainee period of 6 months after which an on-role job given. Roles offered are that of junior project coordinator, and assistant construction manager.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is not good. There were some old buildings where the construction was going on. In labs, some of the equipments didn’t work. Our library is very big with all the academic books mase available along with a Wi-Fi and WLAN cable. I had some bad experiences with the hostel. There are no fans, I brought a fan for the room myself. They need to at least provide the basic facilities. Our mess food was moderate in quality. No medical facilities are given by the college.
Faculty: The department has a dedicated faculty team including 11 faculty members. There are mostly male faculty members. The teachers are M.Teach Civil or Construction management qualified with some having experience in the field of construction. Course curriculum is balanced with equal hours for practicals and theory. Semester exams are difficult but more than 80% of the students passed in our batch.
Other: Our college fees is very affordable but hostel feels is expensive if we consider its facilities.
