Established in 1997, the college offers UG and PG courses in Occupational Therapy. It has well-equipped clinics and learning aids for undergraduates and state of the art research facilities for postgraduate students. The courses are recognised by associations such as All-India Occupational Therapists Association (AIOTA) and World Federation of Occupational Therapists (WFOT).

For the batch of 2020, the college reported a 100% placement record with an average package ranging between Rs 3-5 LPA. The college has links with various hospitals and rehabilitation groups that foster clinical postings.

SRM College of Occupational Therapy was started in the academic year 1996 under the Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University. In 2004, the college was brought under the ambit of SRM University, and in the same year, a postgraduate program was started. SRM College is the only occupational therapy college to offer BOT, MOT, and PhD programs in Tamil Nadu. It is one of the colleges in South India that is recognized by the All India Occupational Therapists’ Association (AIOTA), the National Governing body of the profession, and World Federation of Occupational Therapists (WFOT), the apex professional body worldwide, and accredited by NAAC with graded A+.  Many organizations recognize the college but it is not a ranked college.
