Normally states have set minimum bar atv50% marks for general catagory candidates in 12th for becoming eligible for admission in engineering colleges. Best wishes to you.

Yes, you can take industrial engineering after doing Diploma in mechanical engineering. You have to pass all the subjects in Diploma to be eligible. You can join this college by either giving common entrance test or by management quota and it's not a big deal to get industrial engineering through common entrance test because the cutoff for this branch is above 10000 to 12000.

Hello Michio, you have already got a seat in Christ university. Now you want to know whether you will get CSE branch in the other two colleges. Right? I feel that too the choice or the availability of vacancies in CSE would be absolutely minimal. This is so because almost every student who would have got this branch allotted will never back out from this and hence vacancies invariably do not arise in subsequent rounds. In view of this, I am afraid the chances of getting this branch are quite dim. However the quirks of admission process are known to throw many surprises and do not lose hope till the last round. I'll tell you about calculation of marks and rank as well.(Engineering).
KCET Marks: Marks obtained in physics, chemistry and mathematics will be added and the maximum marks is 180.
KCET rank(engineering) : KCET rank will be calculated by considering the performances in KCET and QE (quallifying examination) as well.I will explain with an example ,let us assume that u have scored 131/180 in KCET and 288/300 in QE,then your % marks in KCET is 72.77% and in QE it is 96% now they will add this two( that is, the formula goes like this
Rank will be given
R={(%KCET+%QE)/200}100
(This is for better understanding)
In my example .
{(72.77+96)/200}100= 84.3
Then they will sort ,who has got more R(i have taken this R for better understanding) value will get good rank.
And the rank to a particular R value varies every year,
i,e. In KCET 2016 for R= 84.3 the rank was 2685.
But in KCET 2015 for R= 84.3 the rank was below 900.(as it dependent on number of candidates ,difficulty of question paper and competition level).
