I had a great experience but a little dissatisfied with placement policies.
Placements: The percentage of students who got placed from our batch of LL.M course is very less as none of the organisations visited here to offer placement opportunities for the law department. Students who have been hired from other streams got a good salary package, but unfortunately, from LL.M course, none of the students got a good package. However, a few of us got an opportunity to do an internship in reputed corporate companies and firms, which enhance our skills and improve our knowledge.
Infrastructure: Classrooms of our department are below average as they are poorly maintained by the staff members. However, the campus environment is very good as it has a lot of greenery, but there is no such cleanliness inside the campus. The hostel facility is good, and the food provided is average. However, any student can adjust easily to the hostel environment. Canteens are not really good, and MDU has to work on its canteens. It needs to work on infrastructure.
Faculty: A good university is known by its faculty members. Faculty members of our department were good, and most of them had good knowledge of the subjects which they taught. The teaching quality was impressive. Teachers are very cooperative and lenient so that students can easily interact with them and ask their problems.
Other: The course which I had chosen was masters in law, and the shift was the morning. The best part here is the fee of the morning batch, which is like Rs. 10,000 per year. As our department is a 2 years duration course, the total fee is approximately Rs. 20,000. Hostel charges are also reasonable so that every student can afford their expenses on their own. The aura of the university impresses me a lot. I hope I can get admission to this university for my future course also.

    Nice infrastructure and education quality.
Placements: A number of students joined as judge, assistant professors and law officers. This college is one of the best law faculty in Haryana and the first university which started LLB 5 year course in India. But no law firm hires students through campus placements, and students get placements in government departments through different competitive exams.
Infrastructure: The whole campus is Wi-Fi enabled, and we have a computerised library. The college has the best infrastructure in Haryana. NACC issued A grade to the university, and it is one of the old universities of Haryana which is established under the act of state government. I recommend you to visit the university website once which is mdurohtak.ac.in.
Faculty: It is a state government university, so there is no doubt about qualified faculty. All faculty are PhD holders and UGC NET qualified. Various curriculum activities like moot court competition and legal quiz are organised by the department from time to time. Various other activities like NCC, NSS and Red Cross camps are also organised by the university.
Other: It is a state government owned university.

    Department of Law
    Admission FAQs

Q:   Is LL.M. at Department of Law, MDU better than Institute of Law and Research?
    A:

    Hello,

Major differences that are concerning for LLM students are what specializations are offered. The Institute of Law and Research may offer specializations such as International Law, Corporate Law, Intellectual Property Law, Human Rights Law, and Environmental Law whereas on the other hand, MDU offers constitutional law, corporate law, and criminal law. So, you can go for your preference.

Although there are advantages and disadvantages to the LL.M. programs offered by the Institute of Law and Research and the Department of Law at MDU. When evaluating these programs, it's critical to take into account elements like the faculty's experience, the course content, research possibilities, and the alumni network. You might also want to think about the universities' general reputation, campus amenities, and location. In order to make an informed choice based on your unique academic and professional goals, I would advise if at all feasible visiting both the schools.

Q:   How many students can do LL.M. at Department of Law, MDU?
    A:

    Hello,

A thirty-student LL.M. programme is offered by the Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU) Department of Law, which can be said that the intake officially is divided per specialisation as follows

    criminal law - 30 seats

    corporate law - 30 seats

    constitutional law- 30 seats.

So, the Master of Laws programme is available in three specializations: Corporate, criminal, and constitutional law

This course is selected by an entrance exam, and the prerequisites are an L.L.B. (Professional) degree with a minimum of 50% overall or an equivalent exam that is approved by MDU Rohtak 3. As a result, the MDU Department of Law's LL.M. programme can accept 30 students.
