B.Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering - Batch of 2025

My college experience with pros and cons.
Placements: I took the Electronics and Communication Engineering course in my B.Tech. as per my brother and relatives' guidance, as they told me that I have a chance of getting a job in core companies and also on the software side. The college brought some core companies like Medha, Moschip, etc.
Infrastructure: The classrooms are okay, but not so excellent. The infrastructure is good, and our college prioritises the environment by planting many trees and plants around the college. The hostel food is decent, and the facilities in the hostel can be improved. The canteen was improved recently, and there is sufficient space for sports and games.
Faculty: The faculty and their knowledge were top-notch. They extend their support to the students beyond the curriculum. They explain everything in a practical way possible. The semester exams are conducted with mid-level difficulty, making it possible to pass for most of the students, and about 80% students pass on the first attempt.
Other: The things I would wish can be improved are that many more core companies should visit my branch, so that ECE students can get placed in their core branch companies. Also, it should provide more industrial exposure to us. Events can be conducted in a larger number than they are now. Campus life is peaceful and good.

Very satisfied with the college faculty, and with good placements are only bad in 2023. Nice here.
Placements: I am studying in 1st year. I have not talked with our super seniors completely, but a little, but I asked once, and they told me that placements in our college in the last year were terrible compared to other years. The highest is 32 LPA, the lowest is 7 LPA, and the average is 10 LPA. Top recruiters of our college are TCS, Wipro, Capgemini, Cognizant, and Axiom OI. Roles as Software Engineer, Full Stack Developer, Data Scientist, and AI Engineer are offered in our course.
Infrastructure: We have no Wi-Fi, in addition, we have jammers to block the network. Labs are well designed and properly maintained. Classrooms are really good with projectors, including a clean board and nice air flow through windows, and are very comfortable. Library is also good with books. They got more books than any college after Githam.
Faculty: Teachers are really helpful to us, and they have nice qualifications and are very friendly when teaching us, and they also help us in the lab practical very well. Our course curriculum is fully relevant, and it does help in keeping students industry ready. Really tough, but you could pass if you study well. The pass percentage is good.
Other: I chose this course out of pure passion for being a chip designer, and the best thing about our course is the course itself. If faculty of 1st year goes easy on us in labs then it would be a great help for us to improve. Events are indeed well maintained, and I love the annual day.

A college with good facilities, supportive faculty, and active campus life.
Placements: In our course, nearly 85% of the students secured placements. The exact highest, lowest, and average packages are not clearly known, but overall, the opportunities are good. Top recruiters included TCS, Infosys, and Cisco. Most of the internships and placements are for entry level roles such as Software Engineer, Associate Software Engineer, or System Engineer, which are the common designations offered in campus placements. These roles mainly focused on IT services, software development, and technical support.
Infrastructure: Our college offers good facilities and infrastructure with labs like MPMC, Microwave, DLD, and Python, along with common library and digital classrooms for interactive learning. Hostel facilities are decent with good food in the mess and canteen. Medical support is available. Students are encouraged in sports and games, with pickleball tournaments held regularly, where one girl even reached national selection. Cricket is also popular, with frequent tournaments and competitions. Various sports events are organized on different occasions, making the campus environment balanced, active, and supportive for both academics and extracurricular activities.
Faculty: Teachers are well qualified, friendly, and always willing to clarify doubts whenever students approach them, which makes learning easier. The curriculum is good and covers the basics well, but it may not fully prepare students for the industry, as more practical exposure is needed. Semester exams are manageable, though at times the papers can be a bit difficult, however, with proper preparation, students can attempt them without much stress. The pass marks are around 25+, and overall, the pass percentage is decent, with most students able to clear their exams successfully.
