GIM Goa Admission Overview 2026
GIM Goa admission 2026 is entrance-based. The institute offers admission to its flagship PGDM course via CAT, XAT, CMAT, MAT and other scores. GIM Goa conducts GAAT or GIM Analytics Aptitude Test for admission to PGDM BDA and IDA programmes. The institute also offers Hybrid PGDM and FPM programmes. Candidates are selected for Hybrid PGDM based on their performance in interview round. For FPM, admission is based on academic performance, work experience, PI and other parameters.

XAT cut off is released category wise. The cut off percentile for female candidates and male candidates are different. The cut offs for engineering and non engineering candidates are different and XAT cut offs for PGDM BM and PGDM HRM are different. As per the GIM Goa cutoff 2024, the percentile was 85 for the General All India category students. So, considering the previous year cutoff trend, a candidate must score above or in the range of 80 to 85 percentile in XAT.

2 - Selection Rounds
GIM admission to the PGDM course is based on XAT, CAT, CMAT, GMAT scores followed by face-to-face evaluation and profile assessment index. GAAT is conducted for admission to PGDM BDA and IDA programmes. Admission to the FPM course is based on Statement of Purpose, research proposal, evaluation of academic performance, research interest and relevant work experience. Yes, GIM Goa offer waiver in tuition fee. GIM Goa provides a tuition fee waiver scheme to students whose family income is less than INR 8 LPA to PGDM students. Students who apply for withdrawal on or before June 30 of the admission year, receive full refund of the academic fee after deduction of INR 1,000 as processing charge. Further, there is deduction from the hostel fee based on the duration of the stay of student in the hostel. Students withdrawing from the course after June 30 of the admission year are not eligible for the refund.
Admission to GIM Goa is strictly on the basis of merit and no donation in any form is sought or accepted in connection with admission. There are no reservations for Goan candidates, but for personal interview selection, the qualifying cut-off score of the competitive exam may be lowered by up to 15 points for candidates of Goan domicile/origin.

No, GIM Goa does not accept CMAT scores for its PGDM programs for admissions. It only accepts CAT or XAT exam score. CAT score of previous year is accepted and XAT score of current year is accepted.
CMAT 2025 was on January 25, 2025, almost four months ahead of previous years. The CMAT exam is usually held in March-April, but in 2023 and 2024, it was held in May. The last time CMAT was held in January was in 2019.

The CMAT 2025 exam schedule includes registration window open and close dates and form correction dates. CMAT 2025 registration has started, and the last date to apply was December 13, 2024, and the admit card was released on January 20, 2025.
GIM Goa admission is based on national-level Management entrance exam scores and personal interview round. For BDA and IDA, candidates also need to appear for GIM Analytics Aptitude Test (GAAT) for objective assessment. Below is the selection criteria for PGDM programme:
CAT 2024 result has been out. Candidates willing to opt for PGDM course must get ready for the admission process at GIM. Admission at GIM consist of several stages wherein it first release its cutoffs for the MBA courses. After that, students were invited to appear for Written Ability, GD and PI rounds. Then after, institutes shortlist candidates based on their merit results. It is advised for the candidates to keep track of their results. Further, they need to prepare in advance for the GD/PI rounds. Also, they must keep track of the schedule to avoid any rush.
The institute considers XAT/ CAT/ GMAT/ MAT/ CMAT/ UGC NET/ CSIR NET/ JRF, statement of purpose, research proposal, past academic performance, work experience (if any) and personal interview to shotlist candidates for FPM programme.
Candidates must check the result on the website of CMAT. Aspirants need to give application number, date of birth and pin to download the result. Candidates must keep the scorecard with them for future reference.
At the PG level, the Goa Institute of Management (GIM Goa) offers two-year full-time PGDM, HCM, BDA, BIFS, and IDA courses to students. The PGDM fee is INR 5.3 lakh - INR 19.4 lakh. This fee is exclusive of various charges such as the admission charges, transportation charges, and several other charges. Students can apply for scholarships if the fee is too high.
GIM Goa PGDM programme eligibility criteria are:
- Complete a graduation with a minimum of 50% aggregate (45% aggregate for SC/ ST) to apply for the PGDM programme.
- Appearing in the final year of the degree must obtain 50% aggregate (45% aggregate for SC/ ST) to apply for the PGDM programme.

GIM PGDM (Part time) involves the percentage basis selection criteria. 30% weightage is given to work experience, 30% weightage is given to past academic records, 30% weightage is given to face-to-face evaluation and 10% weightage is given to composite diversity index.

There is no work experience required for admission to GIM Goa PGDM program. Do note that the institute gives weightage to work experience during evaluation. This is as per the institute's policy. Even freshers are allowed to apply.

General category students who have scored at least 50% are eligible for admission in GIM Goa PGDM courses. For SC/ST category, scoring at least 45% is must for admission. Along with that scores of either XAT or CAT exam are must for admission.
