In India, GITAM University is typically regarded as a Tier 2 university. It is a respected, well-established private university offering a broad choice of courses and a robust infrastructure, although it is not usually ranked among the top Tier 1 universities like the IITs, NITs, or some other elite public universities. Favorably ranked in national university rankings, GITAM has acquired respect for the quality of its education, particularly in subjects like engineering, management, and healthcare. Though strong, its placement history, research output, and overall brand value are not yet at the Tier 1 level, which is often only attained by highly regarded national and international universities.

Yes, GITAM University has a policy regarding refunding fees; however, it is subject to certain rules and deadlines. In general, if a student leaves a program within a certain amount of time, the university will reimburse the fees in accordance with University Grants Commission (UGC) guidelines. Generally, if the withdrawal occurs before classes begin, the full refund (less processing fees) is awarded; if it occurs after classes begin, the refund percentage will decrease depending on how many weeks the withdrawal occurs. Students must submit a formal request for a refund, and the university will process their application in accordance with the policy. Non-refundable elements may include admission and processing fees.

CUET (Common University Entrance Test) is not yet required for GITAM University B.Sc. admissions. Instead, for undergraduate programs like the B.Sc., GITAM University administers its own entrance exam called the GITAM Admission Test (GAT). Additionally students may be admitted based on how well they score on qualifying exams (Class 12) particularly for programs like B.Sc which have a minimum percentage requirement in pertinent disciplines. However as rules may alter over time based on governmental regulations, it's crucial to verify the most recent admission requirements on the university's official website or get in touch with their admissions office.

Every year the number of applicants, exam difficulty, and seat availability all affect the qualifying cutoff scores for the GITAM Admission Test (GAT) at GITAM University. In general, applicants must receive a GAT score of at least 50% in order to be considered for admission to the majority of programs including B.Tech. Meeting the cutoff however does not ensure admission as it also influences counseling eligibility and seat assignment. Various campuses and programs may have various deadlines. Higher cutoffs are typically seen in courses with high demand such as management or computer science. Different cutoff marks may also apply to state quotas and reserved categories.

GITAM University normally does not grant direct admission to a Ph.D. program unless specific requirements are satisfied. A relevant master's degree (or its equivalent) with at least 55% of the possible points must normally be held by applicants. Admissions decisions are typically made based on results from national tests such as UGC-NET, CSIR-NET, or GATE, or from the GITAM entrance exam (GURCET). Candidates who meet these requirements may not need to take the admission exam but they must still go through the interview procedure. Candidates with outstanding academic or research accomplishments may be eligible for direct admission to some programs but most applicants will need to go through the usual interview and written exam process.
