GLS Institute of Design only accepts admission through its own conducted entrance exam known as the Design Aptitude Test for which the candidate must have passed class 12 with a minimum of 50% aggregate and should fill out the application form through the institute’s official website by paying an application fee of INR 2,000. Candidates selected through the GLS Institute entrance test will have to go through the Personal Interview (PI) round and those who qualify for the PI round will be selected for final seat allotment.

It has very good faculty members and a college life.

Placements: Our college has good placements even in foreign countries. My seniors told me about internships. We had a great experience, and many of them got a job. It's not necessary that we get placements or internships in the city. GLS is connected with many brands and is one of the known colleges.

Infrastructure: College doesn't provide hostels, but the quality of the canteen is quite good. Labs are good enough. Even classrooms and students' favorite place is the library. College doesn't have a hostel, but it is in the center of the city, so it is easy to stay nearby in another way. There is one hostel opposite GLS.

Faculty: Faculty members are very good and have deep knowledge of design. The best thing about college is that it has very good faculty members and experience. Even students are helpful to each other.

Other: The college celebrates almost every festival, and the best is Ganesh Chaturthi. Even though it is good in sports.

GLS Institute of Design has good surroundings where students can learn and innovate.

Placements: I haven't graduated yet. But I have heard and seen my seniors getting placements in good companies with the average starting package. Faculty members help us in internship programs after completing the 3rd year by guiding us in our portfolios. GLS has a lot of disciplines to choose from after our foundation year.

Infrastructure: It has a good infrastructure. There is an easy and friendly environment for design students to work in. The canteen is good. It does not have a hostel inside the campus, but there are hostels and PGs nearby. The college is in the center of the city, which is safe. There are also stationary shops.

Faculty: Our college has well-educated faculty members. They are passed out from national colleges and have a good experience, which helps in understanding design better and guides us through the process. The student-to-teacher ratio is 1:3. The college is good. I like its education system personally.

It is a preferable option for design field.

Placements: About 65% of students are placed. The package is Rs. 15,000 per month to Rs. 25,000 per month for freshers. Top recruiters are Swiggy, HOF, Rooshad Shroff, Crio, Design ki Peti, EA Adorn, Task Design, and Flash Fuels. About 100% of students get internships at companies like VIP, Godrej, etc. Top roles offered are product designer as a Ui/Ux designer, lifestyle designer, or hardcore industrial designer.

Infrastructure: It has Wi-Fi, labs, a product lab, a fashion lab, studios, a Mac Lab, etc. The quality of food is good and we get a lot of variety to choose from. Medical facilities are also available. Sports and games are not that entertaining in a design college, which is a limitation.

Faculty: The teaching quality is good, especially for the product design course. Teachers are Ph.D. holders, so that creates a good impact. The pass percentage is around 99%. The course curriculum is relevant for the product design field but not that relevant for other fields.

Other: I chose this course as it is quite interesting and has got a great future as per the upcoming market trends. A very good event named Ahmedabad Design Fest was celebrated and had a remarkable experience. A lot of fests and events are celebrated on campus.

I am satisfied with the college, assured 100% placements and excellent faculty members.

Placements: Placements are excellent as many students got placed in top MNCs even after this global pandemic. The detailed reports with exact numbers would be published for the year 2020-2021. The college provides esteemed internships in every field, and many students got selected in renowned companies like Spotify etc.

Infrastructure: I like the campus infrastructure. There are many cubicles outside where we can sit, sketch or discuss. There are 4-storeyed buildings, and classrooms are also very decent with air-conditioners and proper tables with locker facilities. A canteen is available. MAC labs are also available here.

Faculty: The faculty members are well-qualified in their respective fields. We enjoy learning with teachers, and they are also very helpful in whatever field you seek help. Our director, Dr. Anil Sinha, is an expert in graphic designing. His knowledge and experience in the field are very inspiring. We also learn a lot from our classmates, and there are also various courses in which we group with the other field classmates like students from product design. We get to learn much from these courses.

Other: The college hosts the top design fest in the state named Ahmedabad Design Fest, with amazing artworks done by students. There are also many comic shows, dancing and singing events. It also included many sports events and also popular events like JOT Talks, where we get to interact with various talented experts of the field.

Review of GLS Institute of Design.

Placements: About 90% of students get placed in my course, but it mostly depends on your grades and portfolio. The highest package can be around 6 LPA, and the lowest can be around Rs. 60,000. In the last year of the course, it is mostly internships, so everyone is encouraged to find an internship.

Infrastructure: The classrooms are equipped with AC and drawers. There are lockers for students. There is a fashion lab, Mac lab, canteen, woodworking lab, and stitch room, all for students to use. The college does not provide on-campus housing, but there are options near the campus, like Circle and Hives.

Faculty: All teachers are qualified to teach. Some faculty have studied at GLSID itself. Many faculty have master's degrees from NID. The curriculum is divided into different modules. Geometric, Design Drawing, and more. There are assignments and practical-based work.

Other: The events are all student-oriented. Clubs are happening every day after official class hours.
