Good infrastructure and generous faculty members.
Placements: Many private limited companies offer placements for students, including TVS and others. The basic salary that is offered is around Rs. 15,000 INR per month. 50% of students are getting internships. Many students join in history because of the availability of the course and it's affordability.
Infrastructure: There are lab, library, and hostel facilities. Hostels are basically from the government side, which are AD welfare hostels run by the government of Tamil Nadu. And the college has heritage infrastructure because it was built by the British during British rule. Food is average, and sports facilities are there.
Faculty: The faculty members are really knowledgeable and have a lot of talent. They help students with everything. Their teaching quality is also good. The semester is conducted by the university. The question papers are quite difficult to pass, but many students get passed due to their smart work.
Other: I have chosen this course because my ambition is to become an IAS officer, it's very easy to study history, and it's also very helpful for my future career. Many festivals are conducted, like the fine arts function, sports day functions, the annual day function, and the famous Drizzle Fest at our college. Scholarships are provided based on the community reservation.

Education without expenditure.
Placements: There is no good placement cell in college. Top companies do not approach for placement. The average package is around 12K, which is very much less for a postgraduate degree holder. The internship program is subject to the students' own interest and isn't provided by the college.
Infrastructure: Yes, there are a few facilities for the lab but don't have enough equipment for experiments. Wi-Fi facilities are provided only to faculty members. Classrooms are enough. Hostel facilities are provided for all community students, and boys' and girls' hostels are separate with a long distance between them.
Faculty: Few staff members are very friendly and help the students in academics. The syllabus is of high standards, but there are not enough staff members provided by the department. Semester exams are a bit difficult, and the pass percentage is 50% for PG students and 35%.
Other: I chose this course because of its vast job opportunities. Can provide better lab equipment for experimental purposes. Scholarships are provided to all students. Events are conducted occasionally.

Value for money and good environment.
Placements: Students are eligible for placements after the 3rd semester in masters and the 5th semester in bachelors. There are no such big companies that approached. A few exceptional cases are being approached by Wipro via government job searches. Students are hardly placed in good jobs.
Infrastructure: This government college is the oldest in the district and was built in 1955 so the infrastructure is quite good and has good library facilities. No Wi-Fi environment. Classrooms are average. There are separate hostels for SC students and BC students. Average food in the hostel. Medical and sports facilities are above average.
Faculty: This college is affiliated with Bharathiar University and has a good syllabus for separate departments. The course curriculum is relevant and it needs more attention to make the students ready. Faculty members are very friendly and helpful. Due to a shortage of professors, portions are not completed in time.
Other: This college is situated in the middle of the town and the atmosphere in the college is appreciable. The college has a few events organized by the Fine Arts Club. The campus surroundings are good. Scholarships are provided by the government.

Review of Government Arts College, Udhagamandalam.
Placements: Our course mainly focuses on individual research summits and offers quotas for government jobs. There are job offers from NGOs and internship options available. Top roles offered are forest ranger, forest officer, conservationist, zookeeper, etc.
Infrastructure: Libraries, labs, classrooms, etc., are available. Government hostels are available. The college is settled on a hilltop and has a good atmosphere to learn and explore.
Faculty: Our teachers are supportive and well-trained. The teaching quality is good. The course curriculum is framed by Bharathiyar University. It is very simple and informative.

Review of Government Arts College, Udhagamandalam.
Placements: There are no direct placements. Few companies come to college for placements, but they are not top companies in the market. The packages offered are from 15,000-25,000 only. For high packages, we have to look for off-campus placements. The passed-out students are rarely placed.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure are not up to the mark. Labs are good, and the equipment is good. No Wi-Fi facilities are provided. It has a good library with plenty of books. Hostels are not good. Mainly SC hostel doesn't have good infrastructure. Students staying here don't get proper food. Mess is not good.
Faculty: Exams are not conducted frequently to enhance the learning of students. The syllabus is not completed on time. The faculty give assignments for the syllabus completed. Faculty members are friendly and helpful, but when it comes to academics, they don't finish the syllabus.

Our college gives value for money because it is a government college.
Placements: There are no placements and no industrial visits. At the end of the semester, few companies visit for placement. The salary package will be around Rs.10,000 to 15,000 per month. Response from the company is not good.
Infrastructure: There is no proper facility for the chemistry lab. There are no proper classes, no ICT classes, and no digital learning. Benches in the class are too old and not enough space for students. Hostel is not up to mark and no proper food is served to the hostelers.
Faculty: Faculty members are friendly but not everyone. There is no proper communication between faculty members. Staff give assignments and units they haven't thought. They don't come to class and don't finish the portion given to them.
