You get back 80-90% fee back, very good college. I am a little bit dissatisfied with some campuses.
Placements: First batch pass out in 2026 because college is new. It was established in 2022. Placement is decent with average package of 3 LPA - 4 LPA, and highest may be 10 LPA - 12 LPA. Top recruiting companies are 60-70% core companies like Aditya Birla, Tata Steel, Jindal, TCS, etc.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is amazing and attractive. But boys hostels are limited. There are 2 boys hostels and 1 girls hostel. They have their own gym area but equipments are not available right now. Mess food is decent not hifi like restaurants because it is government. College is not a private institution that charges lakhs. B.Tech fees are very low Rs 55,000 tuition fee needed to complete your B.Tech thus return on investment is maximum.
Faculty: Faculty members are amazing. They are well educated and experienced, taken from BIT Sindri. They are very supportive. You will get lots of internship opportunities that are provided and directed by the professor. Semester exams are tough because you are an engineering student, you face them.
Other: I am a B.Tech first year student at GEC Palamu in electrical engineering department. I chose this branch because of my interest in it. This is potential for the future, and they have potential in government jobs and private jobs. There are lots of events organised in this college like fresher party, Janmashtami festival, and Holi. Many clubs are there like arts clubs, sports clubs, ISE clubs, drama clubs, etc.

College is best regarding fees, infrastructure, study, and exams, but not good in labs, hostel food.
Placements: My college is new, so the first placement will occur in 2026. 90% of students are doing internships in companies like BCCL, JBVNL, CTPS, DVC, MPL, etc. Our principal collaborated with some companies a year ago for further placements. We are all waiting for placement. That's all about my college.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure available in my college include Wi-Fi, labs, classrooms, and a library. The hostel infrastructure is good, with electricity and a bed. In the hostel, the food is not good enough, only lunch is good. We all suffer from hostel food. I shared all the details.
Faculty: In my college, all the teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. Exams are held in a seminar hall and classrooms with very strict discipline, no one dares to cheat during the exam. If anyone is caught cheating, they are expelled from the exam at the same time. So, according to me, this is good for students and their future.
Other: I chose the electrical course as it is my dream course for my job, and it has very less fees in my college. In my college, the lab and some things are not placed due to the new college. Events, fests, campus crowd, connectivity, campus surroundings, scholarship, and extracurricular activities are all good.

GEC Palamu: An overview whether you should opt or not.
Placements: No placements have been done yet. However, internship opportunities are quite good, and third-year seniors have had the opportunity to work as interns at well-known companies like TCS.
Infrastructure: The classrooms at this college are spacious and well-maintained. The hostel rooms are also well-maintained, and each room accommodates three students. The hostel rooms are fully furnished. Students enjoy playing sports like cricket, volleyball, and football. In January, a cricket tournament is held among the four branches.
Faculty: The faculty members are well qualified and knowledgeable, and many have done their Ph.D. from IITs and NITs. The course curriculum is relevant, and from the very beginning we learn about basic engineering mechanisms that provide a solid foundation for our studies.
Other: I chose this college because I had an interest in the electrical engineering field from the start. Events are not held regularly, but do occur once every six months. The food is quite good, and the college is close to all possible transportation facilities. The vicinity around the college is also peaceful. Scholarships are given to students who have a weak financial background.

Detailed review of GEC palamu .
Placements: The college is very new, so there is no placement scene for now. Students will have to look outside for job and internship opportunities. Don’t expect any help from the college or anybody else. Rely on yourself and work hard, and you will get good opportunities.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is very good because it is recently made, and all the classrooms are also very good. Teachers take classes in seminar halls, which are fully air-conditioned. The library is very small and has a very limited number of books and articles.
Faculty: All the teachers are well-qualified and experienced. All have deep and thorough knowledge of their subjects and are helpful in nature. The syllabus is outdated, but JUT is adding new subjects to cope with this problem. The semester exams are of moderate level.

Complete information about Government Engineering College, Palamu.
Placements: The college is new and so no batch has graduated yet. The placements scene is very uncertain as no batch has graduated till now. So nothing could be said about the placements. The training and placements cell is also very inactive. The students will have to rely on themselves to grab job opportunities.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is very good as the college is new. The classrooms are all well-equipped with classes being taken in seminar halls which are fully air conditioned. There are 2 hostels for boys and 1 hostel for girls. The hostel is good with 24/7 electricity and water supply. The mess food quality is below average.
Faculty: The teachers are all well qualified and all the subjects are taught very well in the college. If a student pays good attention in the classes and is regular, he can do very well in the examinations. The curriculum is a little outdated but new subjects have been added to keep it relevant.
Other: There is no social life here as the college is situated in a rural area. The college clubs are almost non existent.

The room is available with 3 beds, tables, 3 chairs, and 3 cupboards for 3 students. Water and electricity are available 24 hours a day. The Mess fee is 3900 per month. The quality of the meal is not too good as compared to the charge students pay.

Hi,
With an 88.4% in Class 12, your CRL rank of 188402, and an EWS rank of 30668, securing a seat in B.Tech CSE at GEC Palamu might be difficult, as CSE typically has higher cutoffs. However, for the EEE branch, you have a better chance, especially with the EWS category, as it may have slightly lower
