Absolutely dissatisfied with the hostel management and college faculty.
Placements: The placement rate is very low because it is a new college located in a rural area. Some students from the Mechanical department get placed in private companies with a salary of Rs. 20,000 per month, but there is no information about other branches. I hope by the 3rd year, we get placement opportunities from better companies.
Infrastructure: Hostel food is average, and cleanliness is very poor, happening only 2–3 times a month. Washroom gates are broken, and the hostel warden is careless.
Faculty: Faculty is not very cooperative. They ask students to complete the syllabus on their own and do not focus on student performance. Students have different capabilities, but they are not supported. For example, a friend of mine presented a startup idea that teachers liked, and his team was selected for the next level and won Rs. 50,000 to start their project, but the principal kept the money. There is a shortage of teachers, and the teaching faculty is not committed to their work. They often skip parts of the syllabus, sometimes covering 80 pages of PDF in a 30-minute class.

The college has good infrastructure and supportive faculty.
Placements: This is a new college, so mostly startups and new companies are visiting for placements. Companies like TCS and other major recruiters are expected to come in the near future, according to seniors from the 4th year. The highest salary offered so far in the college is Rs. 25,000 as of December 2025. Many more companies are expected to visit by 2026. This is the most recent placement data available.
Infrastructure: The college has good infrastructure overall. However, some classrooms that are not in use tend to be dirty, but the overall structure is very good and new. Hostels are well-maintained, neat, and clean. Regarding hostel food, students need to make some compromises as it is not the same as home-cooked meals.
Faculty: Faculty members are generally okay. Some professors are very well-versed in their subjects. Most of the exam questions come from what is taught in class and from students’ notebooks. But for semester exams, proper preparation is necessary as you cannot rely solely on what is taught in class.
Other: When considering events, fests, campus connectivity, surroundings, scholarships, and extracurricular activities. I would rate them as average.

Review of Government Engineering College, Palamu.
Placements: It is a new college, and no batch has passed out yet, so predicting placements is challenging. However, the management is trying very hard to bring companies to the college. Most of the seniors here are getting internships in great companies.
Infrastructure: The campus is comparatively smaller than other colleges. Hostels are currently full, but they may be available next year. The hostels for girls are available. The campus is pretty clean, and there are lots of clubs to participate in. They also organize an annual sports meet within the college.
Faculty: Faculty here is really supportive and tries to help a lot. This college also comes under JUT, so all the exams are conducted by JUT itself. Other than that, the academics are not very tough, and you get plenty of time to upskill and try different things.
Other: There are no labs currently for the CSE department, but we can organize our own labs with our laptops. Other than that, if you are not getting BIT Sindri, this can be the second-best option for you.

Good college and infrastructure .
Placements: After the 3rd year or in the 3rd year only, students start getting placed according to. Since it is a new college, its 1st batch is passing out in 2026, so after that, the percentage of students placed and the average package will be clear. But different companies like TATA, BIRLA GROUP, TCS, etc. have been approached, and hope they will consider this college since it is backed by BIT Sindri, so that aspect will be helpful for this college.
Infrastructure: The hostel is very good. Features, as compared to government colleges, it is very good. The hostel charge is yearly 9,500, and the mess charge is monthly 3,900. There is a menu provided by the mess according to which it runs. The food is good, not bad. There is one study table, one personal almirah, and one bed provided to each student, and there are a total of 3 students from the same branch in each room.
Faculty: Faculty here are highly qualified, i.e., from BITs, MITS, etc. There are 2 midterms (the best of two are taken in the end-sem exam) and 1 end-sem exam. Mid-sem of 20 marks end-sem of 70 marks each, and 10 marks are for attendance (75% attendance is a must; if not, then you can’t be able to give the exam).
Other: College life, on campus is very good. There are different clubs in the making process, as it is a new college. Infrastructure is very good, with a library with 1000s of books available. There are different groups for different purposes like cultural program groups, student doubt-solving groups, and queries of juniors that are very welcomingly entertained by the seniors. They are very supportive. No ragging.

This is considered the best college under government-funded and PPP mode and halls
Placements: It is a newly established college, so there aren’t many ideas yet. But some companies visit on a regular basis. Almost 90% of the students have applied for and qualified for internships, mostly with Jharkhand-based companies. There is also a hackathon.
Infrastructure: There is Wi-Fi availability and laboratories for the respective departments, along with well-structured classrooms for each specific branch. There is also a library with a good number of books and many more resources. There is a hostel facility and a better mess, but not a canteen. There are also many medical facilities, as well as sports and games.
Faculty: According to seniors’ guidance and suggestions, the faculty are well-qualified and knowledgeable. These courses are relevant for industry placements. According to seniors’ suggestions, it is easy to pass the semester exams. A 5 CGPA is required for passing, and a 7 CGPA is considered good for placement.
Other: I chose this college because I am interested in Computer Science and Robotics, and there are many digital coding clubs, like hackathons and halls. There are also lots of clubs and activities held on special occasions.
