Best government college for Electrical Engineering in low feels with good practical learning.
Placements: In Electrical Engineering, around 30-35% students got placed from campus. The highest package was around 2.4 LPA, the lowest around 1.2 LPA and average around 1.5 LPA. Companies were mostly local industries from Siliguri and Durgapur side, mainly electrical maintenance and manufacturing firms. For internship, 100% students got it in 5th semester as it is compulsory, at WBSEDCL substations and local workshops. Top roles offered were Junior Engineer Trainee, Electrical Technician and Maintenance Supervisors. Overall placement is average, you need to try off-campus too.
Infrastructure: For our Electrical department, facilities are quite good. We have separate labs for machines, power system, measurement and basic electrical with all major equipment like motors, transforms and panel for practical. Classrooms are big and airy, library has all required books like Theraja and Gupta, and Wi-Fi is available in the campus. Hostel is inside the campus with decent rooms and 24-hour water and electricity. Mess food is average but hygienic, canteen is small but okay. Medical facility is available nearby and we have a playground for sports and games. Overall infrastructure is good.
Faculty: The teachers of Electrical department are very helpful, qualified and knowledgeable. Most of them are permanent faculty with good experience and they explain concepts clearly with practical examples, not just theory. Teaching quality is good and they help us anytime with doubts and projects. The curriculum is as per WBSCTE and is quite relevant, it covers basics to advanced machines and power systems which makes us ready for field work and JELET. Semester exams are moderate, not too tough if you attend classes and labs regularly. The pass percentage is high, almost 85-90% students pass easily.
Other: I am from Diploma in Electrical Engineering batch 2025-2028 at Government Polytechnic Alipurduar. I chose this course because I had interest in electrical machines and power systems from the beginning and wanted a government college with low feels. The best thing about our course is strong practical learning and supportive teachers. Things that can improve are more modern equipment in labs and more companies for placement. Campus surroundings are very green and peaceful near forest, connectivity is okay. We get all government scholarships like SVMCM and OASIS. Events like Vishwakarma Puja, freshers, sports and teach fest happen every year.

This college is very good for engineering students. Industrial visits are also available here.
Placements: This college is very good and even better. Here we can make new friends. Placements are very sensitive. All the department students are very good. The college campus is good and clean. The college has a dress code. Computer Science is the best course in engineering.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is available. Labs are clear and fresh. We get regular lab classes. Classrooms are also in good condition. The library is a place where we study sometimes, and all books are available. The hostel food is awesome. Canteen food quality is good. A medical facility is available. Annual sports are organised.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful. They all are qualified and knowledgeable. Their teaching quality is awesome. The course curriculum is relevant, and it also makes students industry-ready. Semester exams are very difficult, and all teachers are very strict and also use CCTV cameras. The pass percentage is above 60-90%.

Faculty members are very good and behaviour also good.
Placements: This year 95% students are placed.

50% of student got internship from this course and in many companies like tata honda manufacturing company
Operatoring is main then manufacturing and sales company come.
Infrastructure: Facilities of our college is outstanding. All teachers are very talented. All are available lribary
Food quality and quantity is very good. And sports are available for 2 times in a year. Have a canteen and mess for all students and others who are coming in college .
Faculty: Teacher are very helpful qualified and knowledgeable. Teaching quality is very good and outstanding. Yes this course curriculum relevant. This is very important things for find a job in company
Difficult is most to get exammed passed. Passed percentage is 40%.
Other: Very good college please come to visit.
