B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering - Batch of 2023
2.8
Our college has good faculty members.
Placements: The placement percentage of our college is 40%, but because of the recession, it goes to less than 15%. Top recruiting companies are TCS, Infosys, Atos, Capgemini, Soft Solution, etc. Many students got placed in our college.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is well-designed. Our college has 3 floors. The library has many books related to all courses. Our college has a canteen. The food served in the canteen is good. The hostel facility is available in our college. The hostel is clean.
Faculty: Our teachers are well-educated at top universities. They are very knowledgeable. They are kind. They are always ready to help students with projects, assignments, etc. They are well-mannered. Semester exams are not much difficult.
Other: Our college has a good environment.

Review of Hitkarini College of Engineering and Technology (HCET).
Placements: In our college, almost 60% of students were placed. The highest salary package offered was 9.6 LPA. The lowest salary package offered was 2.4 LPA and the average salary package offered was 3.6 LPA. Top recruiting companies like Tech Mahindra, TCS, and Cognizant visited our campus. Almost 80% of students got internships. Top roles offered were assistant project executive, team leader, etc.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure was classy. The library was full of technical books. Wi-Fi was a little slow at that time. Classrooms were well-ventilated and open while every major subject had a dedicated lab of itself. The hostel had good infrastructure, spacious rooms, and proper security. The mess owner was student-friendly, and the food served was hygienic. Medical facilities were not available. There was a basketball ground and there was also an amphitheater.
Faculty: Our teachers were helpful and had technical acumen, but a lack of faculty members for all subjects put an undue burden on them. The teaching quality was good. The course curriculum was up-to-date. Students with proper self-study and little exposure become industry-ready. Semester examinations were of a moderate level. The pass percentage was around 75%.
Other: Mechanical engineering was fun to study. I think more industry exposure should be given and extracurricular activities should be added to the college routine.

Our college has a good infrastructure.
Placements: About 10 students were placed out of 54. The lowest salary package offered was 2.4 LPA, while the highest was 9 LPA. The top recruiting company was Tech Mahindra. Around 60% of students got internships. The best role offered was project assistant at Tech Mahindra.
Infrastructure: There were well-ventilated and comfortable classrooms. There was a canteen, a small basketball court, and a garden. There were dedicated labs for major subjects, and the library had a huge collection of books. The hostel was quite good according to the fee. There were no medical facilities except first aid.
Faculty: Faculty members were knowledgeable and helpful, but the student-to-faculty ratio was very low. The course curriculum was up to the mark and good to make us industry-ready. As it is affiliated with RGPV Bhopal, semester exams were moderate but the passing percentage was high.

Check the placement records of the last 5 years of the college before taking admission.
Placements: In my batch, only 5 toppers were asked for direct interviews, and the rest 30+ students were required to clear the aptitude test. Only 3 of them cleared it and were given a chance for the interview. 4 of the toppers and 1 of the other students got placed in TCS, and the rest were left to seek a job on their own. So, the placement rate is not even 10%. Since TCS was the only hiring company, the package offered was 3.25 LPA for all the students. No other company came for us. No internship was offered. The students who got placed were recruited as assistant engineers.
Infrastructure: The classrooms were good. But there was no Wi-Fi. There were no machines in labs. The faculty members just put pressure on students. The librarian doesn't want to work. You have to stand for at least 1 hour to get a book (maximum 4 books) issued. At the time of return, they just misplace the books to add it up to your fine. I didn't opt for the hostel or food facilities, as I live nearby. But my friends lived there. The college hostel was poor and expensive, so even the girls rented a room outside. I have never seen any medical attendant in the college. Sports are the biggest scam. There are no facilities or support. Even if there's a sports match to be conducted, the faculty members won't allow us to participate as they want us to attend their worthless classes.
Faculty: I will give 2 stars because of 4 to 5 good teachers, and the rest of them are unprofessional and lack knowledge. No matter how good you are, they won't support or help you. They want you to attend their classes. So overall, my experience was the worst. The teachers want to complete the syllabus and give us assignments. Even after following this strategy, most of them were never able to complete the course in any of the semesters. Exams were good, and the only thing was that standard questions were asked. Since no one was dependent on the college for passing, about 80% of students cleared exams.
Other: At that time, I preferred this college because it had got a great reputation since everybody was interested in mechanical or civil. I was good at concepts of electricity, and there were lots of opportunities in M.E.S. and other government jobs in this field. The teachers hired should be tested, and also some subjects were of no use and some important subjects must be added.

It has good infrastructure, facilities and hard-working faculty members.
Placements: More than 50% of the students get placed already, and the placements are still going on. I cannot make out the exact number, but the students are satisfied with their placements. The minimum salary package offered is 1.8 LPA, and the highest salary package offered is 3.4 LPA. The best companies like TCS and Wipro visit our college for placements.
Infrastructure: The department has fully equipped computer labs. I did not use the hostel facility, so I do not have much idea about it. I would still recommend the facilities offered by the institution hostel.
Faculty: Most of the teachers are helpful and qualified. Most of them are knowledgeable. Their teaching quality is somewhat great, especially by the HOD of the computer science department. The course curriculum does make the students industry-ready and trains them for a life in the field of computer science. The course offers a wide range of options for the learners. Faculty members give their best to educate their students with the highest ethics.
Other: The college organises fests in an appropriate time frame to keep the excitement while not disturbing the course curriculum. The campus is situated in an area that is beautiful and allows the students to chill on their time as well. The institution also conducts a lot of extracurricular activities.

It was a good college. But as most of the teachers left it is not in good condition.
Placements: TCS was the major recruiter. Training & Placement (TP) cell helps in improving skills also provide time to time support. They also conduct carrier orientation programme. Currently, our TP officer has left the college, so I'm not aware of the current condition. TCS earlier came at the close campus but now it won't.
Infrastructure: Our college had good facilities. We had elevators, parking & other basic amenities that were well-managed. There was a well-equipped computer centre. Classrooms were also good & well maintained. The entire campus was covered with CCTV, which makes it safe. Our college had a good & clean cafeteria. The campus was clear & clean. We had indoor & outdoor sports facilities.
Faculty: Teachers in our college were good earlier, but now they all left. I'm not aware of the current college situation. Currently, most of the old facilities left college. The course curriculum was most relevant. There were a few sessions by training & placement cell to make students industry fit. Overall experience was average. We always have to put our efforts, and not to expect anyone to spoon-feed.

HCET Jabalpur is the best college to have a better future.
Placements: About 80% of the students from this course were placed. The lowest salary offered was Rs. 35,000 per month and the highest salary offered was 1.25 lac per month in our course. Top recruiters for our course are TISCO and MNCs like Tracxn, TCS and BHEL. The top role offered in our course is a chief executive manager. Many students, i.e., about 78% of the students from our course got internships. Everything is good about HCET college, and my colleague was also graduated from this college.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi facility is always available, and every floor has 3 laboratories and libraries. Classrooms can accommodate 150-200 students at a time. There are air-conditioned classrooms and libraries. Hostels are available for students, and some of our friends stayed in the hostels. There are separate hostels for boys and girls, which are around at 600 yards far from each other. The food facility is good, and 24x7 water and electricity facility is available. Wi-Fi facility is provided for educational purpose in the hostel. The charge for hostels low, including food charge, and there are 3 cooks for breakfast, lunch and dinner. In the hostels, there rules and regulations which are mandatory to follow by students.
Faculty: All the teachers here are well qualified and well experienced, i.e., have a teaching experience of about 15-30 years. Their teaching quality is A+. This course curriculum is relevant, and it makes students industry-ready. Everything will be well for you and for the future.
Other: I chose this course because I observed my colleagues who graduated from here got very good jobs and placements in other countries like Germany, US, California, etc., and inside the country in cities like Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune, Mumbai, etc. Everything about this course is good. Events and fests organised here wonderful. The campus crowd is also wonderful, and the campus surroundings are also wonderful.

The college needs to be improved.
Placements: Placements in our college are not satisfactory at all. None of the students of our batch got placed. Small unknown companies visited the campus, and we were offered roles of heavy-duty truck drivers in some instances. Students got internships on their own. No placement cell is available here.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is top-class. There isn't a college in Jabalpur which is as smartly built like ours. Labs are not much used here, but the equipment available there is quite old. Even the food served is good. The only issue with the infrastructure is the campus houses College of Architecture and Dental hospital too. Otherwise, the campus would be scenic.
Faculty: Faculty members of the mechanical department are great. The best professors taught us various subjects. Guest faculty members available here were not that good. The student to faculty ratio is 45:1. Industry exposure is seldom offered. The course curriculum was run and governed by Madhya Pradesh Technical University.
