Sasmira's Institute of Design and Textile was established in 1950 in Mumbai, Maharashtra by the initiative of the Textile Ministry of India. It was previously known as the Sasmira’s Education and Training Programme (SEPT) and is one of the topmost colleges for design studies. The college is mainly concerned with areas of Fashion, Textile, Merchandising, and Sustainability Studies.
SIDT Mumbai courses are offered at the UG, Diploma, and Certificate levels. Some of the popular courses offered at Sasmira’s Institute of Design, are Bachelor of Design (BDes), PG Diploma in Apparel Merchandising (PGDAM), Diploma in Fashion and Apparel Design Technology (DFADT/ ADFADT), etc. These courses are offered to students in full-time and part-time modes.
