To help set up first-year students for success, it’s important they know about all of the helpful resources around them - and how to access them.Enhance Onboarding Programming. Start engaging senior students early on by connecting them with important resources, information, staff, faculty and students well before they set foot on campus. Keep students informed about scholarships and on-campus jobs by centralizing opportunities in one easily accessible place.Get Involved in Clubs & Participate in Events Early On.Encourage them to participate in campus activities and join interest groups. This is a great way to help for 1st year students feel welcome and develop a sense of belonging in the campus.

Yes, the B.Tech Certificate obtained through the Work Integrated Learning Programme (WILP) of BITS Pilani is valid for GATE IES and other government exams. The degree Certificate awarded by BITS Pilani through the WILP programme is the same as that awarded to students in the full-time on-campus programme, and it is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

True, you can get a better salary offer at a PSU than at an IES. For example, the basic pay is around Rs. 60,000 in most PSUs, whereas the pay scale of an IES entry-level position is Rs. 15,600 to Rs. 39,100. However, the perks offered to IES officers outweigh the salary part of PSUs. These includes:
1. IES has better authority and respect in society than any other PSU. You will get the title of "government officer" as an IES.
2. Except for Indian Railways, every department in the IES offers postings in Tier 2 cities. However, because the plants are located in rural areas, you are more likely to be posted in rural areas in PSU.
3. You will get more facilities in IES. Such as vehicles, staff, and drivers, then in PSUs.
4. The promotions in IES are based on seniority, as opposed to merit plus seniority at PSU. Hence, you have secured promotions in IES.
5. The IES employees get decent bungalows with a large campus area, whereas the PSUs usually offer small quarters. For these reasons, most engineering graduates prefer the IES over PSUs and consider it a better option. However, you can decide, as per your own preferences, which one you want to join.
