There is no subject-wise weighting in the ESE examination. Objective paper 1 asks almost similar questions from all the sections. In subjective, you can focus more on communication systems, analog communication, electronics, and digital electronics for paper 2. If you go thoroughly to the last 5 to 20 years' pattern, you will notice that they asked questions from all subjects. So focus on the entire syllabus. Cover each and every topic so you don't miss anything in paper 1 and Paper 2. Because in the objective paper, you will find questions from all subjects like history, politics, geography, Current Affairs etc.

In the Engineering Services Examination preliminary exams, the Union Public Service Commission won't follow any weight-based pattern. For an electrical aspirant, I can suggest a few points. , Among all subjects, machines, networks, power systems, and control systems combined will definitely ensure you 100 to 150 marks (whatever the pattern may be). The new subjects like computer organisation, material Science, and math will be there in every teacher's mind because of their new syllabus. The subjects that were less focused on the previous year will not be the same this year; we can expect less emphasis on communication, microcontrollers, and microprocessors, as they will be less focused on Mains as well. My advice is to cover all subjects for prelims, and we can have the option to leave a few during main practice.

If we looked at the overall rankings of these institutes, Welingkar &get; SIES &get; Dalmia &get; Chetana. So, Welingkar would be your first preference. It is better to join a GDPI training programme as it will give some structure to your preparation and you'll know how to frame your answers to commonly asked interview questions, how to generate points and tackle GDs, and how to face What (writing ability test) and work on your CV/Resume and application. You can start working on these things immediately:
1. If you haven't been following the news, start reading the newspapers right away and go through Current Affairs so far. That will take care of the content in GDs and will also help during interviews if you're asked your opinion on a topic
2. Do institute research. Why do you want to join that particular institute? What kind of activities happens on campus? Talk to people who are currently studying there or have completed courses from that institute
3. Write answers to commonly asked questions. Why MBA, why at this point of time, about your work experience, extra-curricular activities, positions of responsibility, long-term and short-term goals, passion, hobbies and interests, strengths and areas of improvement, etc.
4. Attend a mock interview/GD. It will definitely highlight gaps in your preparation. Hope this helps! All the best :). .

All the colleges are average and almost equal in terms of everything. Still, if you want to choose one among the three I would suggest you go with Chetna then IES then MET. Feel free to ask if you have any more queries. All the best!
