IIIT Kota is a cooperative enterprise of the Government of Rajasthan and MHRD (Ministry of Human Resource Development) in a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) manner. IIIT Kota is initially mentored by the Malaviya National Institute of Technology (MNIT Jaipur). The institution offers courses in UG, PG and PhD level. For admission to the programme it accepts National entrance exams.

IIIT Kota BTech admission is completely entrance-based. Interested candidates are required to apply and appear for JEE Main. After qualifying for the exam, they are required to participate in JoSAA/CSAB counselling for final seat allotment. Yes, as per IIIT Kota’s admission policy, it accepts JEE Main score for admission to its four-year BTech programme. However, gaining a valid score in JEE Main is not enough for admission to IIIT Kota. Candidates are also required to go through JoSAA counselling or CSAB counselling process to secure a seat in the institute. 

The selection to IIIT Kota’s BTech programme is based on the candidate’s JEE Main exam score followed by the centralised counselling process regulated by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) through which they are allotted a seat. The seat allotment also depends on the college cutoff and a candidate’s preference for that course and college. JoSAA registrations usually begin from the third week of June in online mode. However, the Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) manages the counselling process for the remaining vacant seats.

Candidates willing to apply for BTech at IIIT Kota are required to apply for JEE Main exam first. IIIT Kota offers BTech programme in two specialisations : Electronics & Communication Engineering and Computer Science and Engineering. The cutoff score for BTech CSE for the year 2023 is 27979. 23619 and 22155 was the Cutoff score for the year 2021 and 2022 repectively. As seen from cutoffs score of the past two years we can conclude that competition for the BTsch CSE score has rose higher compare to the proevious two year.
