IIIT Sri City offers a Full Time PhD as well as a Part-time PhD programme to the candidates.Candidates pursuing full time PhD from IIIT Sri City can submit the synopsis only after 24 months from the date of registration, also candidates with Institute Scholarship can leave the Institute for job but only after submission of synopsis.Candidates pursuing part-time PhD from IIIT Sri City can submit the synopsis only after 36 months from the date of registration.The maximum duration of full time PhD is 6 years and for part-time PhD, the maximum duration is 7 years.

IIIT Sri City M.Tech admissions are taken, either through GATE or IIIT Sri city own application process. The eligibility and selection criteria for M.Tech is given below:CourseEligibilitySelection CriteriaMTechFor GATE:BE/ BTech in CSE or ECE or equivalent specialisation.For Non-GATE:BE/ BTech in CSE or ECE or any equivalent specialisation with a minimum of 60% aggregate or 6.5 CGPA (55% or 6.0 CGPA for SC/ ST/ PWD) from a recognised University.For GATE:GATECounselling and Admission process will be conducted by CCMTFor Non- GATE:Candidates having a Undergraduate degree from CFTI institute with more than 8.0 CGPA, will be selected on the basis of merit and then they have to appear for a coding test and a personal interview conducted by IIIT Sri City.Candidates who do not have an undergraduate degree from CFTI institute or graduated from a CFTI institute but have less than 8.0 CGPA, will have to appear for a written test conducted by IIIT Sri City, followed by the coding test and interview.

The selection process of IIIT Sri City M.Tech for Non-GATE is divided into two categories a)Non-GATE candidates with an undergraduate degree from CFTI institutes b) Non-GATE General candidates (Non-CFTI or CFTI with less than 8.0 CGPA). Selection process for both the categories is mentioned below:Non GATE Candidates with an Undergraduate degree from CFTI InstitutesThe candidates will be selected on the basis of merit in the qualifying degree. Candidate must have scored a minimum of 8.0 CGPA to fall under this category.Shortlisted candidates have to appear for a Coding Test and Personal Interview conducted by IIIT Sri City.Non GATE General candidates (Non-CFTI or CFTI with less than 8.0 CGPA)Candidates who does not have an undergraduate degree from a CFTI Institute or the aggregate score from CFTI institute is less than 8.0 CGPA, falls under this category.The selection is based on the entrance test conducted by IIIT Sri City, the syllabus of this entrance test is similar to GATE Syllabus.After appearing for the entrance test, the shortlisted candidates will have to appear for a Coding test followed by a personal interview.Prior work experience will be given additional weightage in the selection process.

The students are eligible for 12 leaves in a semester. They can claim the leaves after taking prior permission of their guide.The students are required to mark their presence using biometric or shall sign the attendance register on all working days
