For admission to IIM Kolkata MBA, candidate must hold a valid bachelor's degree in 10+2+3 pattern with at least 50% aggregate (45% aggregate for SC/ST/PwD candidates). Moreover, the aspirants appearing for the final year of their bachelor's degree with final year results awaiting, are also eligible to apply. However, such candidates, if selected, are granted provisional admission, only if the pre-final certificate signed by competent authorities of the previous institute/ university, the latest by June 30 of the admission year is submitted.
IIM Calcutta is not hard to get for dedicated students. It is a good college for students who plan a good career ahead. IIM Calcutta placements are good. This is true, the competition for acceptable seats is high but worry not students with good CAT scores and dedication can get admission. This is where the role or prior practice comes.
IIM Calcutta is one of the top IIMs of India with a rank of 5 under the 'Management' category by NIRF. Getting admission to IIMC is competitive due to limited number of seats. The requirement for getting admission in its flagship programme i.e. MBA is qualifying CAT and fulfiling the eligibility requirements. The minimum aggregate required in graduation is 50%. Hence, aspirants scoring less than it will find it difficult even if they pass CAT. Aspirants have to pass every selection round for admission to MBA. Selected candidates have to further come for personal interview round.
For admission to IIM Calcutta for the flagship MBA (or PGP) course, the result of CAT 2023 can be expected by the last week of December 2023 (If the CAT conducting body follows the trend as in 2022). However, if the trend is not followed, the same will most probably be out by the first week of January 2024. After the release of result, the exam takers will be able to download their CAT scorecards from the official website using their login credentials for IIM Calcutta admission.

There are 65 seats for Post Graduate Diploma in Business Analytics (PGDBA) course of IIM Kolkata. There could be more number of seats for MBA programme as it is institute's flagship course. The institute follows seat reservation policy of the Government of India. In addition, it must be noted that the seat count mentioned here is taken from the official website/sanctioning body. However, it is subject to changes and hence, is indicative.
As per an unofficial source, admission to the certificate programmes is subject to fulfilment of the eligibility criteria. Aspirants can reach out to the IIM Calcutta admission office to get information related to the admission procedure. Moreover, some certificate courses are available in online mode, hence, details about those courses are available on the platform through which it is offered.
For admission to a PhD/DPM course in IIM Kolkata, aspirant must meet the eligibility criteria. Only eligible candidates can fill out the admission form. Find below the eligibility requirements for the programme:
- First Class master's or postgraduate Diploma degree in any stream and a three-year bachelor's degree with at least 50% aggregate, OR
- CA with a minimum of 50% aggregate or CS/ CMA with a minimum of 55% aggregate along with a BCom degree, OR
- BTech degree of four years duration with 6.5 CGPA or equivalent, OR
- Non-engineering candidates, who have undergone 10+2+5 years, are also eligible to apply for the doctoral programme
- In addition, applicants must have obtained a minimum of 50% aggregate either at SSC/HSC-level
- A final-year student appearing for the Bachelor's degree examination in Engineering or Master's degree examination in any discipline can also apply. Such a candidate, if selected, will be provisionally admitted provided he completes all requirements for obtaining the degree before June 30, of the admission year. Admission of the candidate will remain provisional until the candidate produces mark sheets proving that he satisfies the eligibility criteria. The deadline for submitting the final year degree mark sheets is December 31 of the admission year.

Yes, candidate can get into IIM Calcutta at 70% in Class 12. But mere 12th marks are not sufficient for MBA admission. Therefore, candidate must attain a really good score in CAT exam. IIMC Delhi has 80 seats in MA course, 40 for each specialisation. The institute offers seats to students basis CUET PG score. Students should confirm their seat by paying the course fee. The final selection is based on CUET-PG score and performance in the personal interview round.
