In the second year of IIM Ranchi MBA course, candidates can choose preferred electives. Each of it is worth 3 credits. The institute provides merit cum means scholarship worth INR 1 crore every year to MBA candidates. It is given to 25 meritorious candidates. There is additional preference given to candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ and differently abled candidates. The scholarship scheme is provided to support and encourage candidates. 

Candidates wanting to get into MBA in any of the IIMs have to take the CAT exam and clear it. IIM Ranchi CAT cutoff is released and selection for WAT and PI is done.
