IMI Kolkata offers courses in Diploma and doctoral-level. The flagship course offered by the Institute is Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) and two certificate course i.e. Post Graduate Certificate in Financial Markets (PGCFM) and Post Graduate Certificate in Family Business Management (PGCFBM). Candidates have to take Common Admission Test (CAT), Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) to get into PGDM programme followed by the Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI). This involves the preparation of thesis proposal, pursuing research on this proposal and finally an examination based on the thesis leading to FPM.
