B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering - Batch of 2028

Overall, it is best in terms of the fee.
Placements: Mechanical and Metallurgical branches are decent, but other branches are worst. The average package is around 3–4 LPA. Around 30–50% of students get placed. The highest package is 10 LPA, and the lowest package is 2.8 LPA. Before lockdown, Computer Science was the best branch, but after that, Mechanical Engineering is considered better.
Infrastructure: Now, new world-class library and hostel buildings are being constructed. Some facilities are good, but some are worst. The infrastructure is better than the old setup. Hostel food is average. Medical facilities are not available on campus.
Faculty: Some teachers are helpful, but some are rude. All assistant professors are highly qualified and knowledgeable. The passing percentage is 37%. It makes students industry-ready. Semester exams are not very difficult. If you study well, you can easily pass.

Best college for engineering.
Placements: IGIT Sarang provided good placement opportunities especially for core branches. More than 75 percent was the placement rate with an average package of 4.5 LPA. Companies like TATA Steel, Vedanta, Infosys, and TCS visited every year. Internship opportunities in PSUs like NALCO were good. Roles offered were GET, Software Engineer, and Core Engineer. The training and placement cell conducted regular mock tests and soft skill classes which helped students. Needed more IT product-based
Infrastructure: Labs and classrooms were good with proper equipment and Wi-Fi connectivity. The central library was big with study space. Hostel rooms were spacious but old. Mess food was average but the variety was there. The medical unit was available on campus. Sports facilities for cricket, volleyball, and badminton were good. The campus was green and peaceful. Overall infrastructure supported academic growth well.
Faculty: Faculty members at IGIT Sarang were highly qualified, supportive, and knowledgeable in their respective subjects. Most professors had PhD and industry experience so teaching quality was good with practical examples. Doubts were cleared properly after class. The curriculum was relevant to current industry standards and the BPUT syllabus was updated regularly. It helped students become industry-ready through labs, projects and workshops. Semester exams were moderate in difficulty level not too tough not too easy. Pass percentage was around 85-90 percent if students studied consistently. Internal exams and assignments prepared us for semester.
Other: I chose IGIT Sarang because it's one of the top government engineering colleges in Odisha with low fees and good placement in core branches. The best things were experienced faculty, peaceful campus, strong alumni network, and government college tag. If you want affordable quality engineering education with campus placement IGIT Sarang was a solid choice. Just be ready for small-town life and self-learning for high packages.

Master of Computer Applications (MCA) - Batch of 2027
2.4
2.0Placements2.0Infrastructure4.0Faculty2.0Crowd & Campus Life2.0Value for Money
Choose this college only if it is near your home. Otherwise, the college is in a very remote area.
Placements: Very few companies come for placements because of the remote location of the college. In our senior batch, around 20 to 30 students get placed at companies like TCS, Apmosys, and one or two other companies, so opportunities are limited. The highest package is 8 LPA for TCS Digital. Students should focus on building their own skills and try to apply for off-campus opportunities.
Infrastructure: The college neglects the MCA branch in terms of hostel facilities. For boys, there are only 3 rooms, and around 12 students get hostel rooms in the first year. In the second year, around 20 to 21 students get accommodation depending on the college management. Hostel food is average, neither too bad nor too good. There is no Wi-Fi. For girls, there are 3 rooms where around 18 students can stay, but there is no Wi-Fi there as well. The girls' hostel is around 1.5 km away from the college building, while the boys' hostel is around 500 meters away.
Faculty: Some teachers are highly qualified and very helpful. While others are not supportive. The course is more theory-oriented, but there are many opportunities for enrolling in skill-building programs. Most internships that come through the college are paid internships. Semester exams are quite easy for most subjects, and there are 2 internal exams along with viva examinations. Students should focus on developing skills independently rather than depending completely on the college.
Other: I chose this course because it is considered one of the top three colleges after OUTR and VSSUT, but MCA is quite neglected here. The campus is located in a very remote area, and summer temperatures easily reach 45 degrees. Students should not expect holidays due to weather conditions, and some faculty members do not consider student difficulties. Scholarships like Prerana, CM Kisan, and Nirman Shramik are available. Events and fests are good. The nearest railway station is around 12 km away, and public buses are very limited, with only 2–3 buses available every few hours. After 6 PM, buses are usually unavailable.

Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology, Sarang, is a good and very preferable institution.
Placements: Nearly 80 students out of 150 students are placed. The average package is about 4 LPA. The recruiting companies like Jindal, TCS, Nalco, etc., come here for the placement. The placement cell and the future guidance for GATE and other examinations are also good.
Infrastructure: Hostels are good. Food is good, faculty are good in the branch. Medical facilities are available on campus. Sports and games are also priorities. There is a field on the campus, games are played, and sports marathons are held. Good labs are present with proper guidance.
Faculty: The marking system is good, and the college is autonomous, so the marks and grades are good. The faculty teaches how to approach the questions and how to write the answers, too. Checking is genuine. easy to score well, you just need to study well to score.
Other: Scholarships are good. You can get a good scholarship. Hostel seats are a bit limited, and you will have to compete for them. You will get that on the basis of JEE Main rank and semester marks.

IGIT is the best college compared to the other colleges.
Placements: Basically, 40 to 60 percent of students get placed in every branch. The highest package offered is 27 LPA. The lowest package offered ranges from 4 to 6 LPA. The average package offered ranges from 6 to 8 LPA. Top companies like TCS, L&T, etc., hire students. Many companies like Tata, NALCO, Jindal, etc., choose students to do internships. The highest role in the civil branch is construction engineering.
Infrastructure: It is better than any other college in terms of infrastructure. It also has separate classrooms, Wi-Fi, and a library for all branches. There are huge books. The hostel is the best with the best food. All hostels have separate games courts like volleyball, badminton, cricket, basketball, etc.
Faculty: Our college has the best teachers. They are knowledgeable. I would rate 5 out of 5 for their teaching. Exams are conducted in a proper manner. No copying is allowed. After proper checking, students are allowed to enter the exam hall. 90 percent of students pass exams every year.
Other: College offers the best companies for our future and also jobs, so I chose it. I chose civil engineering because there are many competitions for government jobs, and the future is good.

We have an average college experience with scope for improvement in IGIT SARANG.
Placements: In IGIT Sarang, the placement scenario is quite good. Around 75 percent of students get placed. The highest package offered is 7.5 LPA. The lowest package offered is 2.75 LPA. The average package offered in my course is 4.5 LPA. Top recruiting companies for my course are RIL, JSW, IAVL, UPL, etc. Almost all students get internships in different PSUs and other private companies like Tata, Jindal, and IMFA. The top role offered is a graduate engineering trainee.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure and facilities are the best among the government institutes. Labs are good. Wi-Fi is provided everywhere in the college and in the hostel. The college has a hostel. The hostel facilities are great. The food quality in the hostel mess and canteen is decent. Medical facilities are normal, like first aid. Sports are the best part of college.
Faculty: Teachers are not helpful. We have to solve our problems on our own. They are qualified and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is good. The course curriculum is very helpful, and it makes students industry-ready. We can apply the knowledge practically what they taught in class. Semester exams are really tough, and we should study what the subject teacher teaches in the classroom. The pass percentage in the semester exams is 90 percent.
