Q:   Is the BTech Mechanical Engineering syllabus the same for all colleges?
    A:

The BTech Mechanical Engineering syllabus is not the same across all colleges, as every college committee sets a particular coursework pattern at the start of every academic year to be followed for the respective batch. The syllabus includes some core subjects, interesting electives, and lab work that gives detailed knowledge to the students about the workings of the field.

Q:   What is covered in Machine Design subject in B.Tech course?
    A:

Dear candidate, the subject of Machine Design basically teaches you about the designing fundamentals of various types of machinery across industries. You get to learn about the different ways in which elements can be combined to form an equipment or machine system and get the work done in an effective manner.

The knowledge of this subject is very important for a mechanical engineer as he/she will have to put this to use in the future whenever they enter the workforce as a mechanical engineering professional.

Hope this cleared your doubt. Have a good day.

Indra Ganesan College of Engineering review.
Placements: In my batch (B.E. CSE), around 85% of students are placed. The highest package is ₹7 LPA, the lowest is ₹2.5 LPA, and the average was around ₹4 LPA. Top recruiters included TCS, Wipro, Cognizant, Infosys, and Capgemini. About 60% of students got internships in companies like Zoho, CTS, and startups, with roles such as software developer, QA engineer, and support analyst.
Infrastructure: The CSE department had Wi-Fi-enabled classrooms, well-equipped computer labs, and easy access to the central library with e-resources. Hostel rooms are clean with basic amenities, though the food in the mess was average, the canteen offered better variety. A small medical center with a nurse and a doctor on call was available for emergencies. Sports facilities included cricket, volleyball, badminton, and an indoor games room.
Faculty: Teaching quality is good, with knowledgeable faculty but a slightly theory-heavy approach. The curriculum is moderately relevant, requiring extra certifications or projects to be fully industry-ready. Semester exams are of moderate difficulty for regular learners. The pass percentage is usually above 90% across batches.
Other: I chose this course (B.E. CSE) for its career scope and my interest in technology. The best aspects include strong fundamentals, good placement opportunities, and active tech events. I wish for more updated, industry-oriented subjects and practical sessions. The campus has vibrant fests, a friendly crowd, decent connectivity, safe surroundings, and scholarships for eligible students.

    Good college and placements.
Placements: The college has a strong placement cell that provides excellent opportunities for students. Many reputed companies visit the campus, and a majority of students are placed with competitive packages. The training and support for interviews are also well-organized.
Infrastructure: Facilities, including the library, computer labs, and sports areas, are modern and well-equipped. The college also encourages innovation and leadership by providing platforms such as clubs, seminars, and competitions.
Faculty: Faculty members are highly knowledgeable and approachable, always willing to support students both inside and outside the classroom.

Review of Indra Ganesan College of Engineering.
Placements: Around 85-90% of students got placed. The highest salary is 7.2 LPA, the average salary is 3.8 LPA, and the lowest salary is 2.4 LPA. Top recruiters are TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Zoho, and Cognizant. About 75% of students got internships at companies like TCS, Zoho, and startups. Top roles offered are data analyst, AI engineer, software developer, ML engineer, and business analyst.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is enabled on campus. It has smart classrooms, well-equipped AI labs, and digital library access. Hostel rooms are clean. It has 24/7 water and electricity. Mess food is decent and has a variety in the canteen. It has basic medical care with on-campus health support. Dissatisfied because of the management, they charge some amount for every issue .
Placements: 30 % of the girls got placed in mobile manufacturing company, None of the boys got placed through the campus interview None of the core companies or IT based companies came to select us some of us got placed through walking jobs, they don't even allow you to attend internships .
Infrastructure: To be honest the labs are okay, but coming to the facilities they provide in classroom is the worst there is only one projector is present for the entire ECE dept, they doesn't have any power backup and I'm a day scholar but my friends some of them are hostellers the rooms they provide is not up to even the basic level, and coming to the food they provide is not hygiene and it doesn't have any taste at all, there is a hospital nearby if anything happens to the student they give first aid to them in that hospital only, college is little bit far from the city area and a single 4 stack building is for the whole engineering, I'm a footballer but if we have any unit test they doesn't provide on duty or any exemption to play any matches and they have only one ground for all the sport .
Faculty: Staffs are good and professional but they don't support you when you need them, and they teach only the lessons and they don't even teach other things like other coding or managerial things, the pass percentage may be 50% mostly get clears subjects.
Other: I had chosen this because I had a big craze in gadgets and had a idea of implementing a small radio station around my campus but it ended up in nothing, they need to teach other things basically might have to update the teaching proficiency apart from that they conduct 2 events for entire dept a symposium and a freshers day, sports day and cultural for the entire college scholarships for sc and st students and they guide them to how to get their scholarships .

Review of Indra Ganesan College of Engineering.
Placements: I got placed in JD Software Pvt., Ltd., as a software programmer through on-campus interviews. From my junior batch (2018) of B.Tech, the IT students got placed through on-campus drives. Apart from this, I also got an offer in HCL Technologies as L1- network engineer. During my tenure, I had been served as a Microsoft student partner. The number of companies and placement percentage are gradually increasing every academic year.
Infrastructure: The library and labs are well-equipped with proper access for entry. The college provides new modernised bus and students can even get their bike if they have the driving license. The college has an air-conditioned seminar hall. Classrooms and restrooms are well maintained and cleaned at regular intervals. The auditorium is very good.
Faculty: Technology has been gradually increasing, so you can do mini as well as major projects in proper and respective training sessions. It's been 2 years I passed out, I am still in touch with the faculty members. You can even get proper appointment with higher dignitaries, in case if you face any issue.
Other: If you feel that you can't afford so much and want to go for higher studies, Indra Ganesan is the right choice.

If you are only concerned about studies, then it is a good college.
Placements: Our college invites many companies for placements. The salary offered will be Rs. 10,000-12,000 per month. Our staff members also support well for our campus placement process. There is a placement cell in each department which help us to clear all the first and second rounds like aptitude and technical. Even communication improvement session is conducted.
Infrastructure: The college provides good Wi-Fi facility and classrooms. But there is a poor medical facility, and we are not allowed to participate in sports and games. The quality of the food served in the canteen is better, but the laboratory is not well equipped. Even they provide a few types of equipment for testing. Our campus is very small. However, the only good thing is that each floor has a restroom and drinking water facility, and we don't need to travel for one block to another.
Faculty: There is less number of faculty members in our department. However, their quality of teaching is good. All the staff members are helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. Even we can express our ideas and questions. We went to ISRO Satellite Centre at Bangalore as an industrial exposure which is very useful for us to learn a lot of things. They provide good guidance at the right time.
Other: We conduct many technical events in our departments like project expo, Tech Bee, and symposium. But we get only a short period of time for these activities. They only concentrate on studies, so there are no permissions for other activities except for a few students who get good results.
