The qualifying cutoff marks for GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) at Jabalpur Engineering College depend upon a lot of factors that include branch, the category of candidate (General/OBC/SC/ST) and the number of applicants, but basically, the qualification marks in JEC follows the national GATE cut off declared by the conducting authority, but has a little bit variation with state counseling. The cut off for General category students for popular branches like Computer Science, Electronics, and Mechanical is usually higher at about 30-35 marks out of 100. The official GATE cutoffs for each year and branch should be verified, as these may fluctuate depending on the difficulty level of the exam.

JEC is supposed to have one of the most moderate fee structures of engineering institutions. The annual tuition fee for the B.Tech course is estimated to be around ?44,600, which is a rather reasonable amount considering that it's a four-year program. There are various scholarships offered by the college for its students, hence decreasing the burden on finances. However, it might not be the cheapest among the many options available. The M.Tech course in Jabalpur Engineering College is moderately challenging. The entry to the course is through GATE qualification; however, non-GATE candidates also get in based on merit if the GATE-qualified students are not available. The curriculum often is criticized for being outdated, which would make the students less ready for the industry demands. However, the exam pattern is very soft, so students can easily pass with minimal preparation. Although the college provides many specializations, the placement opportunities are not so good as very few companies visit for recruitment, and thus students have to develop their skills by themselves to achieve success after graduation.
