NLC Recruitment through GATE 2025 will start soon.  The PSU conducts the recruitment process to appoint candidates for the graduate executive trainee position in the technical disciplines. The last recruitment was conducted in 2023. We will update the details if there is any information regarding NLC recruitment through GATE 2025. To apply for the GATE NLC 2025 recruitment, a candidate must have passed BE/BTech and possess a valid GATE scorecard. NLC India Limited, formerly Neyveli Lignite Corporation Limited, is a premier ‘Navratna’ Public Sector Enterprise.

The candidates who want to go for admission to MTech appear in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE). Apart from this, candidates who qualify for GATE become eligible for PSU recruitment through GATE. The recruitment process, which is the registration process starts after the GATE result is declared.

Q:   Can I opt for any paper in the GATE two paper combination list?
A: 

No, applicants cannot opt for any paper from the combination list. Candidates can only select from the options provided by the GATE authorities in the GATE 2026 paper combination list. For example, a CS student has the free will to choose from the following set of exam papers: DA, EC, GE, MA, PH, and ST. 

Q:   Can commerce students apply for GATE exam?
A: 

Yes, candidates having qualifying degree in B.Com can apply for GATE exam to get admission to the master's programmes in IITs and IISc. Candidates must go through the GATE information brochure carefully before applying. Also, students in 3rd year or final year in commerce are also eligible for GATE. 

Q:   For how many GATE papers can I apply and how much will I have to pay?
A: 

You can apply for two GATE papers (maximum). While filling out the GATE application form, you need to select the primary and secondary paper. The GATE secondary paper must be from the subject list prescribed by the GATE authorities. Before adding the paper, go through the subject combination list and GATE paper codes. 

Candidates opting for two GATE papers will have to pay double the fees mentioned -

For example,  

  • If a general category candidate is applying for two GATE papers, then he/she has to pay a fee of INR 4000 (during the regular timeline) and INR 5000 (during the extended period).
  • The same applies to the female, SC, ST, and PwD category candidates, INR 2000 (during the regular time period) and INR 3000 (during the extended period).

Eligibility Criteria for NLC GATE Recruitment 2025

Candidates should check the required qualifications before applying for NLC recruitment. Candidates not meeting the NLC recruitment through GATE eligibility should not apply. An overview of the eligibility criteria based on the last recruitment has been added below.

Candidates must have a Mechanical Engineering Degree (or) AMIE in Mechanical Engineering with 60% marks (50% for SC/ST).

Electrical (EEE)

Candidates must have an Electrical Engineering Degree (or) AMIE in Electrical & Electronics Engineering with 60% marks (50% for SC/ST).

Electronics (ECE)

Candidates should possess Electronics & Communication Engineering Degree (or) AMIE in Electronics & Communication Engineering with 60% marks (50% for SC/ST).

Civil

Candidates should possess Civil Engineering Degree (or) AMIE in Civil Engineering with 60% marks (50% for SC/ST).

Computer

Candidates should possess Computer Science Engineering Degree/ Information Technology (or) AMIE in Computer Science Engineering/ Information Technology (or) PG Degree in Computer Applications with 60% marks (50% for SC/ST).

Age Limit: Candidates age should not exceed 30 years as on January 1, 2020.

GATE 2025 NLC Recruitment Application Form

The application form releases in online mode at web.nlcindia.com. Candidates will get the link to apply on this page, which will also be available on the official website. There is no need to send the application form by post or fax. The recruitment body will not consider NLC Recruitment application form through any other mode. Candidates should have a valid email ID, which should remain active for at least one year. Check the details to fill out the application form below.

  • Go to the official website or click on the link, which will be available on this page later.
  • Then exercise the registration process by enter the email id and other details.
  • After that, fill the details such as personal details, educational details, complete address, GATE details, etc.
  • Enter the GATE details such as Registration number correctly in the given space.
  • Upload photo and signature in the requisite format.
  • Make payment of the application fee through online, using State Bank Collect facility available at www.onlinesbi.com.
  • Then go for the final submit of the application form. Keep the hard copy of the application form and payment receipt for future reference.

NLC Recruitment 2025 through GATE – Selection Process

The recruitment body of NLC will select the candidates based on their marks in the GATE result (out of 100). The list of the selected candidates will be uploaded to the official website after a few days of the application procedure. The shortlisted candidates will get the call letter for appearing in the Personal Interview, which will be uploaded to the website and sent through the post.

No, GATE is one of the options to get admission in M.Tech course of KIET University. Aspirants can also apply with their CUET-PG scores. Candidates must also complete graduation with at least 60% aggregate for admission. Selected candidates have to pay the course fees to confirm their seat.
