The basic eligibility criteria for pursuing M Sc in Manipal School of Life Sciences is a graduation degree. Candidates must have passed in graduation with 50%. Candidate must have completed B Sc (Botany / Zoology / Biotechnology / Food Science / Nutrition / Agricultural Sciences or any other branches of Life Sciences)/ MBBS/ BDS / BPharm/ PharmD/ BVSc/ BAMS/ BHMS/ BE or B Tech (Chemical/ Biotechnology/ Biomedical) with above mentioned marks from any recognised University/Institute. MET is an acceptable entrance exam for admission to M Sc in Manipur School of Life Science. The MET Last Round Closing Rank 2023 (General-All India) ranges from 152 to 228.

The placement numbers for 2023 have not yet been made public by Manipal School of Life Sciences. But the NIRF report for 2021 is available. The study states that during the 2020 Manipal School of Life Sciences placements, 27 PG students were placed. Manipal School of Life Sciences admission is ongoing for 2025 year. Candidates can apply online through the official website of MSLS or offline mode. Selection for BSc and MSc course is done on the basis of merit list and MET entrance exam respectively. After the selection, candidates are need to pay admission for the chosen course and submit the required documents.

Admission tests for the MET and Karnataka 2nd PUC are accepted by Manipal School of Life Sciences.

The Karnataka PUC board is in charge of holding the annual final examination for second-year pre-university education in March. Each student takes the Karnataka PUC exam in six topics, comprising two language courses and four more subjects from the Arts, Science, or Commerce streams. Every year, almost 7 Lacs students take the Karnataka 2nd PUC exams. 

Every year, the Manipal Entrance Test (MET) is administered by the Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) to select applicants for admission to its participating campuses. Candidates must complete objective multiple-choice questions in the computer-based MET exam, which is administered at several locations.

The Bachelor of Science (BSc) programme is the main flagship programme offered by Manipal School of Life Sciences. Undergraduate three-year Biotechnology Bachelor of Science (BSc) programme is offered in a total cost structure is INR 5.3 lakh. The minimum required score to be eligible for the course is 55% on the combined 10+2/ equivalent exam in PCE/ PCB or any other optional subject related to Life Sciences from an accredited board. The four-year undergraduate Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Biotechnology Hons programme is also offered. The total tution fee structure for this 4 year course is INR 5 lakh.
