MCET Review about courses, infrastructure, facilities etc.
Placements: 1. 75% of students were placed. 2. The highest salary offered was 25000 and the lowest was 15000. 3. HCL was one of the top recruiting companies. 4. HR was the top role offered. 5. The highest package was 3 Lacs pa, the lowest 1.5 Lacs pa. 6.100% of students got internship from UST global, Raviz group etc.
Infrastructure: 1. Good classrooms, library and labs. Hostel is average and wi-fi accessibility is poor. 2. The quality of facilities in the hostel, food, medical facilities, sports and games were average. They have to improve a lot more in the case of hostels since many students who are from other states opt for outside rooms than hostels.
Faculty: 1. Most of the teachers were knowledgeable. All were helpful. The quality of teaching was just fine but all were in a hurry to complete as per the syllabus. 2. The course was curriculum relevant to some extent. The students were made industry ready.
Other: 1. I chose this course to understand different aspects of business management. Learning different ethics regarding business was best about my course. 2. The class arrangements can be improved. 3. Events are organised just for name sake.

Maria college helps us to mold ourselves in studies as well as in extracurricular activities.
Placements: MNCs and other private companies have visited our college to offer placements. Almost half of the students got placed in various companies. Companies visited our college were local ones. Most of the students got internships. No stipend was offered for internships provided by our college.
Infrastructure: Our college has many labs including mechanical, electronics, electrical, computer, aeronautical and automobile labs. The library consists of a variety of books by famous authors and also local authors for various departments. Girls' hostel is not safe enough. It's preferable for girls not to stay in the college hostel.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful in teaching, and they make students understand the concepts. The course curriculum was useful. Teachers use the textbooks of local authors which is much more understandable than higher authors. They put efforts to help students comprehend the portion.
Other: The college fest is conducted every year, and it includes various departmental conferences and international conferences.

From our college we can easily get engineering certificates but we can't be a good engineer.
Placements: Placements are there. But most of those are BPO companies. Only less IT companies will and recruit the students. In our batch only few students got placed by campus interviews. Most of them were placed in BPO companies. As a computer engineer, it is not good to get a job in telecaller service.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is good in our college but not excellent. We had good computer labs, library and medical facilities. Sports and games were there but they were concentrating only some games like kabadi, basketball, cricket. In our time there was no Wi-Fi in our college. But now it is there. Quality of classrooms are not good comparing with other colleges. The quality of food available in canteen was average. Hostel rooms was also average.
Faculty: Faculty was good in our college. But not excellent. They gave special coaching to below average students. Teachers were helpful at exam times for students who face problems in exam time. The teaching methods was not good. They only concentrate to just pass the exam but not to increase our knowledge.
Other: There were many events occurred in our college time like CSE fest and seminars on many computer related topic.

Kindly note, avoid at any cost, you'll regret. A review by a previously passed out unlucky fellow.
Placements: There are no placements on the campus. All was the cooked up stories. During my entire course duration, I've never seen any placement going on. They do have a placement cell, but no effect on the students. They may show that some got selected in here and there. If you can, kindly do contact those students as per their details as all are fake. Maybe I too will be on the list as I got selected in HCL etc., that is fake.
Infrastructure: The classrooms on the campus are below average but not up to engineering levels. The labs, the library and the medical facilities are below average. You can compare it with some low-grade high school. But as per the brochures, they do provide highly categorised labs. The hostels on the campus are good. Believe me, and all are just Ads. There are no Wi-Fi facilities. You won't be even able to use any electronic gadgets in the college. Also during the first few weeks of the college(i.e., fresher's time), they may seem to show that of all the features. The hostels are the worst, and there is no freedom at all. There is no gym, Wi-Fi facility, and study rooms. The mess food again the worst. But that's almost the same even in the top colleges, I guess.
Faculty: The faculty members are below average. If you need to learn something, the faculty members will teach you just like a mug up manner. You can't even think out of the box. I do learn everything by myself. All they need is the cash. I am sure that many of my friends don't even know the basics. The staff members and the board members are bad, trust me. I do pass as an all-clear student. Till now, there is no graduation day ceremony conducted. I had collected my certificates personally from the office. They even took money from me for the expenses on graduation day(Rs. 1,500), We do have an industrial visit with no good intention at all, i.e., industrial exposure was weak. The course curriculum was good, but the faculty and their methods are below par.
Other: During my four years, I had no chance to participate in any fests at all because they need cash for every function. If you got too much money to spend kindly do spend somewhere else because regret would be the result.

Not bad for an engineering degree.
Placements: There was placement given, but that was just for show off. Some companies came and offered the job, but no one was given any job. Don't expect to get a campus placement from this college. They claimed 100% placement for the previous batch, but none of them got a job.
Infrastructure: Jio Wi-Fi is available here. There is a basket ball court. Food from canteen is average. Hostel rooms are crowded. Sometimes six students in a small room. Some part of college remains half finished for years. Labs have adequate devices available. Classrooms are big but dusty.
Faculty: Some staff are highly qualified, while some are below average. Teachers teach only exam oriented portions. Passing exams is easy. The student-teacher ratio in some departments like aeronautical is very poor. We had an industrial visit. Courses were useful. The college is affiliated to Anna University.
Other: This college is much better compared to some other neighbouring colleges. If you want a degree with less effort, this college is for you. Don't expect too much. It's an average college. Polytechnic courses are also available. College buses are available from Trivandrum for Kerala students.

Satisfied with the way of teaching and their interaction with students. Placement system very poor.
Placements: Actually, I can say the placement cell was not at all active. The companies recruiting re BPOs. And the salary offered was very low. At the time of joining the course, they said some good companies will come to recruit. But they don't even have a proper placement system. As an MBA graduate, I was not satisfied.
Infrastructure: Not at all bad infrastructure. There was a good volleyball ground, good canteen and a main store. A computer lab for us but some of the systems and peripherals not working at all. Even after complaining, the management was not at all bothered about it. A good library with lots of books. A medical officer as well as facilities. Once in a year, sports day. The games they prefer are cricket., volleyball, khokho etc.
Faculty: For my course, I can say, worthy professors. Our HOD and other faculty members are doing their job with professionalism. They are really working hard for our improvement. Seminar hall activities such as improving English communication for us etc. My college is affiliated with Anna University- one of best universities. I am satisfied with our faculty of MBA dept.
Other: One of the things I don't like there is that they will not give proper receipt after the payment of fees. And there is no computer system to feed these data. They are still using old record book to write these things off. In fact, we don't have any evidence to show them that we paid the fees.

About 75% of students from MCET get placed and their salary goes from 1.5 to 3 LPA. Top recruiters in this field are HCL, TCS and Sundaram. The college's placement cell organizes events to help students develop skills needed for getting a job.
