NIELIT Shimla, is providing training to candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC & Minorities communities of Himachal Pradesh, for different courses under the “Training and Proficiency in Computer Applications” scheme since 2007. Till date, about 4410 candidates had obtained training in different courses. It is the earnest endeavour of NIELIT to provide placements to successful candidates of these courses. After the completion of training/gaining proficiency in computer application the NIELIT ensures placement of at least 50% of the total passed candidates in private concern or other organization. NIELIT Shimla is providing the placement to candidates of PGDCA and DCADTP batches since 2007.
National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology Shimla eligibility criteria varies course-wise. Candidates need to complete a minimum of Class 12 for UG courses. For PG programmes, graduation is required for admission. Below is course-wise eligibility for NIELIT Shimla:

National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology Shimla admissions for long-term courses is usually held in January and July. The institute was established on April 10, 1995. The Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MoE&IT), Government of India, runs this institute. National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology Shimla is no longer very costly. In UG courses the tuition fee is around INR 16,500, for PG Diploma courses it is INR 24,000 and for DOEACC A Level (1 course) it is 30,000.

NIELIT Shimla offers O Level (equivalent to foundational level) and A Level (equivalent to advance diploma) courses. The institute offers long-term and short-term courses in full-time and part-time mode. The long term courses are further divided into formal and informal categories.
