NIELIT Shimla application process is conducted online on the institute's official website. For most courses, the institute accepts application throughout the year. However, when a candidate applies determines the cycle in which they will appear for the NIELIT exam. The exam is conducted in two cycle, i.e. January and July. The last date to apply for the January session typically falls in October of the previous year. The last date to apply for the July session is expected to fall in March/April.
National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology shimla admissions are merit-based. The institute considers the merit of the candidates in the last qualifying exam for admission. NIELIT Shimla, is providing training to candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC & Minorities communities of Himachal Pradesh, for different courses under the “Training and Proficiency in Computer Applications” scheme since 2007. NIELIT Shimla is providing the placement to candidates of PGDCA and DCADTP batches since 2007.
NIELIT Shimla Centre is located in the heart of the city in lower Jakhoo area. The Centre was inaugurated on April 10, 1995 by the then Chief Minister Sh. Virbhadra Singh with the objective of sensitizing youth of the state towards IT and spread IT culture in the State of Himachal Pradesh. The Centre has been functioning as a customer centred IT organisation with complete focus on customer needs and expectations so as to fulfill them with a targeted strategy and commitment.
The Centre has good infrastructure in terms of six spacious classrooms out of which three fitted with multimedia projectors, two fully networked dedicated computer labs for the students for carrying out practical assignments, Internet connectivity through high-speed broadband and library facility with more than 500 books to support the approved curriculum being taught to students of formal and professional courses. Qualified, experienced and dedicated faculty members are with us. Our students gain technical and soft skills as per the needs of the industry and society.
