NEIGRIHMS College of Nursing Admission 2026: Fees, Courses, Eligibility and Selection

Basic eligibility for the 4 year BSc Nursing at NEIGRIHMS requires candidates to be Indian citizens, medically fit, and between ages 17 and 21. The College of Nursing, NEIGRIHMS, offers a total of fifty (50) seats annually for the BSc Nursing course. This is a four-year full-time program, which includes a six-month internship, affiliated with North Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Shillong. As it is a central government institution, these seats are highly competitive and admission is based strictly on merit. 

Yes, NEIGRIHMS follows government-mandated reservation policies for seat allocation to ensure equitable opportunities. NEIGRIHMS allocates its 50 seats following central government norms, covering UR, OBC, SC, ST, and EWS categories. A major chunk of seats is reserved for candidates from North Eastern states. Additionally, up to 8 supernumerary seats are provided for students from J&K and Ladakh under the PM-USP scheme. Limited spots for foreign nationals are available. Any unfilled institutional or staff quota seats are typically converted to the All India Open Category.

Yes, NEIGRIHMS offers supernumerary seats over and above the standard 50-seat intake. These include seats for candidates from Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh under the Pradhan Mantri Uchchatar Shiksha Protsahan Yojana (PM-USP), allocated through AICTE. The college also offers supernumerary seats for foreign nationals. They are exempt from the entrance exam, however, they must apply through diplomatic channels.
