NIT Kurukshetra - National Institute of Technology Answered Questions

Currently, NIT Kurukshetra has not released the dates for the commencement of classes for the academic batch 2025. It is anticipated that the dates will fall in the same bracket similar to the previous one. The date of commencement of classes for the 2024 batch was August 12, 2024.  

The hostel fees for the M.Tech course at NIT Kurukshetra include several components, such as electricity fees, hostel security fees, and hostel mess fees. The hostel fees for the M.Tech course range between INR 17,600 and INR 18,400. Additionally, the hostel security fee is INR 6000 which candidates are required to pay only one time, hostel mess charges are INR 30,000 per semester, and the electricity fees is INR 4,500. The fee amount mentioned is sourced from the official website/sanctioning body and is subject to change. Therefore, it is indicative.

Whether or not admission will be possible in NIT Kurukshetra with 92 percentile will depend on a number of factors, including the programme you would be applying to, category, opening and closing ranks of the institute during JoSAA counseling. Percentiles required will be high for popular courses like Computer Science or Electronics, say 95+ for the General category. The cutoffs may be less for other branches. Further, cutoffs change every year with seat availability and competition.

The institute offers direct admission to BTech courses only to the DASA process, that too with fulfilling certain eligibility criteria. However, JEE Main is what gives admissions to the BTech programmes at NIT Kurukshetra. Hence, Indian students can not see themselves in the NIT Kurukshetra BTech programme without JEE Main scores. 

If we compare the tuition fees of NIT Hamirpur, NIT Kurukshetra and NIT Rourkela we will see that NIT Hamirpur and NIT Kurukshetra are the most affordable. They have similar total tuition fees of INR 1.4 Lacs for an MBA. Whereas, NIT Rourkela total tuition fee is INR 4 lakh.Having said that, NIT Rourkela offers the most amount of MBA seats out of the three NITs, as it offers 75 seats compared to 40 and 53 seats for NIT Hamirpur and NIT Kurukshetra, respectively.

If we compare the MBA seats offered by NIT Hamirpur, NIT Rourkela and NIT Kurukshetra we will find that NIT Hamirpur offers the least amount of seats in the MBA programme out of the three institutes. NIT Hamirpur offers 40 seats while NIT Kurukshetra and NIT Rourkela offer 53 and 75 seats, respectively.It is important to note that, although NIT Rourkela offers the most amount of MBA seats, the institute has a higher tuition fee than the other two colleges.

As per NTA - The governing authority for DASA UG admissions - announced JEE Main 2025 ranks will be the basis for admission. In contrast to Indian candidates who must register for JoSAA counselling 2025, all foreign citizens must apply for JEE Main 2025 and, upon the announcement of the JEE Main ranks, must register for DASA counselling in order to be considered for admission.Let's see who can apply for DASA UG admission:Foreign nationals studying in any country, including India, as well as Indian nationals studying abroad who meet the specified admission criteria, are eligible to apply for the DASA UG program.For Indian nationals, the criteria are:Completion of at least two years of education, including 11th and 12th grades or equivalent, in a foreign country within the last 8 years.Successful completion of the qualifying examination from abroad.Eligible candidates must also have a JEE Main rank and should have completed Mathematics, Physics, and one additional subject from Chemistry, Biotechnology, Computer Science, or Biology in their 12th grade. Additionally, they must have secured at least 75% marks (or a CGPA of 7.5 out of 10) in aggregate, as per their respective boards.

NIT Kurukshetra has concluded its cutoff seat allotment rounds with the release of Round 6 cutoffs. NIT Kurukshetra cutoff 2024 spanned from 350 to 523 for General AI category candidates. NIT Kurukshetra has offered two design related courses: M.Tech. in Machine Design and M.Tech. in VLSI Design. As per the NIT Kurukshetra MTech cutoff 2024, the Last Round score for MTech in Machine Design and MTech in VLSI Design concluded at 372 and 494. So, candidates aspiring to get into design related MTech course must target a score of 500 out of 1000 to get into NIT Kurukshetra for MTech (Design) courses.

After Round 3 was posted on DASA's official website, the NIT Kurukshetra counselling procedure 2022 came to an end. It is mandatory for candidates to complete an online application form on the DASA online admission portal for the forthcoming NIT Kurukshetra admission session 2025. Candidates can apply for the DASA UG counselling process by doing the following step:Candidates who meet the requirements for DASA counselling must register in order to take part in the admissions process. Below is a description of the DASA counselling registration procedure:The candidate's date of birth and JEE Main 2025 application number must be entered in order to register. On the email address linked to JEE Main, a web link will be mailed to finish the registration procedure. JEE application number will be the user name of the candidates.In the registration form, candidates have to fill in the required details. Applicants are required to upload the following:the latest passport size photograph in JPG format (size ~ 3.5cmx3.5cm, file size < 100kB).Scanned signature of applicant in JPG format (file size<100 kB). Submit the completed DASA application form. The submitted online registration form should be downloaded and saved for their records.
