NIT Manipur JEE Main cutoff 2026 was released for the first round for admission to the BTech course specialisations. The cutoff was in the form of ranks for various All India and Home State quota categories.

The modes of National Institute of Technology, Manipur course admissions are offline and online. • There is no age limit for appearing in JEE Main.
• Candidates need to pass Class 12 with Physics,  Chemistry/ and any one subject among Chemistry/ Biology/ Biotechnology/ Technical Vocational Subject with at least 75% aggregate to apply for JEE Main for NIT Manipur BTech.

NIT Manipur does allow a one-time branch change for BTech students after the completion of the first year. This is based purely on your academic performance in the first two semesters. You must have a very high CGPA and there must be vacant seats in the branch you wish to join.  

NIT Manipur offers 37 seats for BTech CSE. These seats include both Home State quota for Manipur residents and Other State quota. Seat reservations are available for SC/ST/OBC/EWS categories as per government norms within the available count.

Yes, NIT Manipur offers supernumerary seats for girls in the BTech course to improve the gender ratio. These seats are over and above the regular intake. This policy has helped in increasing the number of female students in various engineering branches.  

At NIT Manipur, the BTech eligibility requires candidates to have passed their Class 12 examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. You must also have studied one of Chemistry, Biology, or Biotechnology. A minimum aggregate of 75% marks in Class 12 is required for General, and 65% for SC and ST candidates.

At NIT Manipur, all BTech students belonging to the SC and ST categories get a 100% tuition fee waiver. This means you do not have to pay anything for tuition, but yes, other institutional charges like admission and development fees still need to be paid. 

To join NIT Manipur, you must first register and appear for the JEE Main entrance exam for the BTech course. After results are out, you need to participate JoSAA counselling. At the time of counselling, list NIT Manipur as your preferred choice. If your rank matches the cutoff, you will get a seat.

Yes, after the online seat allotment, NIT Manipur requires BTech students to report physically to the campus for final admission. During this visit, your original documents are verified by the institute officials, and you pay the remaining balance of the fees. You will also be introduced to your department and allotted a hostel room if you have applied for one. 

NIT Manipur BTech curriculum is spread across eight semesters, covering basic sciences, engineering core, and elective subjects. In the first year, students study foundational topics like Mathematics and Physics alongside introductory engineering courses.
