NEIGRIHMS is a good college for MBBS students, with a good study environment.
Placements: A total of 50 students join the college every year, out of which 9 are from AIQ, 20 from NE Open Quota, and the rest are subdivided amongst Nagaland, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya. The cancer wing, new hostels, and other new buildings are currently under development. The total number of MBBS seats will increase in the upcoming years. The stipend offered for internships is Rs. 23,500 per month.
Infrastructure: There is a huge library with many books and Wi-Fi facilities. A computer lab is available in our college. The library is open from 9 am to 9 pm in summer and from 9 am to 7 pm in winter. Many routine and special studies are available in our biochemistry, pathology, and other departments to diagnose many cases, including RTPCR and CBNAAT for COVID-19 diagnosis. There are currently four lecture theaters, and it will be increased once the new buildings are ready. Our college conducts classes in clinical teaching rooms for every department.
Faculty: Our college is a little bit understaffed before, and currently, it is enough for 50 students. Almost all the teachers and doctors are interactive and helpful. If we get any doubt, they are approachable and will teach us without any hesitation. The courses are taught as per the NMC CBME curriculum.
Other: Before Covid-19, our college used to organise Euphoria, which was an intercollege fest. Every alternate year, UGCON and a national medical conference were supposed to be organised, but it was given a pause due to Covid.
