Renganayagi Varatharaj College of Engineering B.E. / B.Tech should be a competitive option because it has a specialisation in high engineering educations, the modernity of the structure and faculty skills. The college specializes in quality engineer and technocrat production and it has various specializations. A review of placements by individual students may not be positive but the institution has a placement cell and grooms students in preparation of placement. The fact that it is affiliated to Anna University and approved by AICTE also makes it put weight on its accepted engineering degree.

The most important factors of selection in case of the B.E./B.Tech admissions that are conducted in Renganayagi Varatharaj College of Engineering are academic performance and TNEA counselling. The candidates should have completed their 10+2 examination with physics, chemistry and mathematics as the core subjects and the minimum aggregate marks is 45 percent aggregate (with relaxation to the reserved category by 5 percent). Selection mainly relies on the rank secured by the applicant in the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission (TNEA) procedure that takes into consideration the marks scored by the applicant in the 12 th grade.
