B.Tech. in Civil Engineering - Batch of 2027

“Strong Academics, Practical Study: My experience at SATI, Vidisha…”
Placements: I am from the B.Tech Civil Engineering batch of 2025 at Samrat Ashok Technological Institute (SATI), Vidisha. Our batch had a total of around 60 students in Civil Engineering. The highest package offered was around 8 LPA, while the lowest package stood at approximately 3 LPA. The average package for our course was in the range of 4.5-5 LPA, reflecting steady placement opportunities in core and allied industries.
Infrastructure: All facilities are available, including Wi-Fi, labs, classrooms, and the library. The Civil Engineering lab is one of the best labs all over India. The quality of food in the mess and canteen is quite good, and hygiene is maintained. All sports facilities are available, including indoor and outdoor. We have a football ground, cricket ground, basketball ground, badminton court, and a table tennis court.
Faculty: The curriculum is well settled, and the faculty are experienced and helpful. The Civil Engineering department at Samrat Ashok Technological Institute (SATI), Vidisha, has highly qualified, supportive, and experienced faculty. Most professors hold M.Tech or Ph.D. degrees from reputed institutes and have both academic and industry exposure, which makes their teaching effective. They are approachable and always ready to help students with doubts, projects, and career guidance.
Other: The Medhavi scholarship is the most important thing in our college, and there are many more scholarship offers.

Samrat Ashok Institute is the best Central University in Vidisha.
Placements: The placement, in my opinion, was not so good in the present, and the past was good, and in the future, I do not know. The college has the highest placement of 9 LPA and average of 3 LPA. The campus starts from your final year, and students eligibility was based on companies. It varies from 6 to 8, and above 8, you were eligible for almost all companies. The most common companies that visit here were TCS, Wipro, etc. The highest was 9 LPA, and the average was 3 LPA. Around 60% students were getting placed, as per my knowledge.
Infrastructure: The college life was very good, and you have all the fun out here. The college was having its own annual fest, which was named Samrat Utsav, which was of 3 days, which comes at the end of March, and it consists of all types of fun like DJ nights, cultural events. The college has a big library called the Central Library, which gives you free books for semesters. The college classrooms do not have a smart board, but it has a blackboard. The only good thing was that your one half was in the lab and there were almost all the facilities, like a smart board.
Faculty: The faculty members of the college have immense knowledge of the subject and of other subjects too. The teacher student ratio is around 1 to 15, and they were very approachable. If you have any doubts, you can go to their cabins and ask. There were almost all good faculty members, but they were a little bit strict. There were end of semester exams every 6 months, which also included two mid semester exams in those six months. The level of exams was easy to moderate, and almost 90% students passed the exams.
Other: I was sad because I had scored a lower percentage in JEE Main and thought that I would not get a government college, so I filled the counselling of M.P. state and got this college to choose then. I have found some reasons, as I have told you above, that it was a government college and very old, so it has a strong alumni network. Then, I saw the location, and Vidisha was close to a metro city, which was a good advantage, as Bhopal was a future tech hub, and some startups were getting bigger here.

It's not that bad as people rumored about that college because there are some good faculty.
Placements: In our course, 40% of students take campus placements, and others are out of campus; some students prepare for GATE and other government exams. The highest package of our college in 2024 is 12 LPA, and the lowest is 3.86 LPA. Intellipath and RapidOps are some companies that hire our college students. Computer Science is the top course in our college.
Infrastructure: If we talk about college infrastructure, then we can say it's okay because some parts of college are like a vanishing library, and one chemistry lab and a computer lab are present. There is a separate hostel for 1st years, and if we talk about infrastructure, it's decent, and there is also Wi-Fi, but the mess is so unhygenic. There are no medical facilities in the hostel and common room where you will play in a group.
Faculty: Some of them are doing internships, but some are really good teachers with good holding degrees. Yes, this course curriculum is relevant for students and also helpful for their bright future. It's like one night before the exam, it's so easy. The total mark of the exam is 20, in which we have to get 9 to qualify.
Other: I chose this course because this course is currently running in some college, like I am doing blockchain, and obviously I think in the future it will play a major role. I think a teacher should upgrade himself/herself. There is only one fest in our college called Samrat Utsav, and scholarships are awarded according to your capabilities.

A decent tier 3 of a third college.
Placements: Here I am a CSE (Aids) student, the percentage of placement is above 80%. Average package is 4-5 LPA. Highest package is 10 to 15 LPA in my branch. Companies that are visiting for on-campus drives are Cognizant, Yash Technology, Code Technology, and Maventic.
Infrastructure: Hostel for 1st year students is brilliant with all the furniture. A mess, which is handled by the students residing in the hostel, and the mess bill is separate on a monthly basis. The bill is divided among all the students. Done. There are 3 hostels for boys and 3 for girls.
Faculty: Faculty are, on average, some are great, but you have your own reliance on your studies. Exams are, as usual, 2 mid-semester and then end-sem. Semester exams are not that difficult, at a median phase, but checking is strict, the minimum passing is 33%.
Other: I chose this branch as I want to enroll in a CSE degree, as I love to code. But I got an Aids specified, but core CSE could be better. College has yearly Samrat Utsav, an annual function, many more occasional events, and a technical event that I love is Technovision, and sports competition, and rural outreach.

Review of a student journey at SATI.
Placements: From the third semester, we are ready for the campus placements. Companies like TCS, Yash Technologies, Blinkit, Google, and Microsoft hire students. Almost 60% of students get placed in college placements. My plan after my degree is to get a job. The average package ranges from 3-4 LPA.
Infrastructure: The library of my college is the central library affiliated with IIT colleges. It conducts sports competitions like the Sindhya Trophy. In the hostel room, we have 2 beds, 2 wardrobes, a big space and full ventilation. The mess is also available in the hostel The meal quality is not good and it is just like food for survival. The college is situated on the main road in the city. The bus stand and the railway are also very near to the college.
Faculty: The faculty-to-student ratio is 1:70. The faculty-and-student relationship is good. All teachers are very humble and feel like our parents. Faculty members interact in every aspect. If we need help, then we can contact them. Not all faculty members are the best in my college. Exams are moderate.
Other: The annual technical fest of the Samrat Ashok Technological Institute is Samrat Utsav.

Zero in placements. Okay in facilities, campus life, and extracurricular activities.
Placements: To be honest, there's nothing in the name of placements in our college. Very few small companies come here for placement, and the average placement is like 3 LPA, which is nothing. Even many companies have blacklisted our institute, so only 20 to 25 percent of students get placed, and that too in the CS branch.
Infrastructure: As our college was established in 1960, there is a high need for renovation. The library is good but small. The labs are also good, with many labs having good infrastructure. Our college is working on renovations. If we talk about hostels and mess, they are below average and dirty. There's no maintenance, and even the mess is dirty. The canteen is very small and unhygienic.
Faculty: Teachers are really good, supportive, and very kind, but some of the staff, mainly department heads and coordinators, have a lot of attitude. If we talk about the syllabus, it is outdated and lengthy. Teachers are unable to complete the syllabus before the end-sem exams. They always provide notes to study. The exams are really easy to clear, and even average students will clear the exams very easily.
Other: Actually, I am a localite and didn’t want to relocate, so I chose to take admission in this college. They need to renovate the college campus and focus on increasing the number of companies that come for placements. That's it. Everything else is fine about the campus life. There are lots of clubs to interact with seniors and students. SC, ST, OBC, and EWS students get scholarships, but nothing for the general category.
