Considering the previous year trends, it was certain that JEE Main 2026 registration will see more than 13 lakh candidates. In JEE Main 2025 session 1 exam, a total of 13.11 lakh students registered out of which 12.58 lakh appeared in the exam.
JEE Main is a national level engineering entrance exam in which millions of students appear every year to grab a seat in top engineering colleges of India. It is the exam conducted primarily for admission in NITs, IIITs and GFTIs however, the JEE Main 2026 exam score is accepted in many top colleges besides NIT, IIIT and GFTI. Yes, NTA reopened the JEE Main 2026 session 2 registration window from March 12 to 13.
Yes, applicants who wish to particpate in CSAB have to register online from the CSAB official website as both CSAB and JoSAA are separate counselling processes. The document verification of such candidates will not be conducted again, as the documents are verified during JoSAA.

The number of candidates applying for JEE Mains exam is rising every year. In 2025, total number of candidates who appeared in both session 1 and 2 exam was 22.50 lakh, an increase of around 3.5 lakh from the previous year (2024). In 2023, the total number of candidates who appeared in both sessions was around 17 lakh, which increased to around 19 lakh in 2024. Every year, the number of candidates appearing in JEE Mains exam witnessed a growth of around 15%.

There is no decided cutoff for JEE Main for admission in HKBK College of Engineering. The BTech admission in HKBK is based on JEE merit and available seats. However, for candidates who get a decent percentile, there is a benefit in their favor.
