This is how Somaiya works.
Placements: The percentage of people placed into companies from my class was no more than 15%. The average package was around 3 LPA. No internships were provided from college, and even if we find internships ourselves, they don't allow it as it may reduce our attendance.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure and the campus were mind-blowing. Every corner of the college had Wi-Fi access. The libraries had all the books required by the students for studying. Although the cost of the hostel was high, the accommodation seemed very comfortable and safe.
Faculty: The teachers were very knowledgeable and helpful. They clear your doubts anytime you call them. The course curriculum was mostly theoretical; it would have been better if they focused more on practical subjects rather than just theory. The exams were easy according to me, and the pass percentage would be around 70%.

Satisfied with the infrastructure, campus, fests and labs, but dissatisfied with the faculty.
Placements: I recently graduated with a degree in Computer Science Hons. from Somaiya Vidyavihar University’s batch of 2021-2024. I do not recommend SK Somaiya College to anyone who wants to get placed in top recruiting companies. We barely had a placements drive, I do not recall any top company coming into our college for placements. They did not conduct a walk-in placements drive. There were only 2-3 companies who were ready to give 2-2.5 LPA, the companies were all startup based. Not even a single student got placed in any of thes companies. So the percentage of students getting placed in top recruiting company is 0%. They provided us with the internships but it wasn’t worth it. Top roles offered in my course are that of data analyst and software developer. But our college didn’t provide us anything.
Infrastructure: For someone who loves exploring and loves to see the infrastructure and is an athlete, Somaiya is 10/10. They have many labs available with PCs working, classrooms are wonderful, the view is good with each classroom having an A/C now. When we were in the college, it work in progress, but now it's all done. Library is also good. For each department, there is a different library. Wi-Fi works properly. The canteen food is amazing and the mess is amazing, I can say that Somaiya college is made for the infrastructure and for sports persons.
Faculty: Some teachers are so knowledgeable while the others act like they have zero knowledge. They will help and provide you with the questions bank only if you are their favourite student. As for the course curriculum, it’s all theory and not at all what I expected. It does not make the students industry ready for sure. The difficulty level is at 60%. One can score good if they have studied properly. Passing percentage is 95%.
Other: I thought Computer Science would be interesting and I would learn more about practical knowledge instead of theory knowledge. I had to learn everything from youtube and other platforms. The best thing about this course is that it gives you theoretical knowledge making your foundation stronger. I would like if Somaiya improves their faculty and brings more experienced teachers who teach more about practical things like programming languages and developing applications and testing. About fests, every now and then you'll get to enjoy fests. But I did not enjoy it much. The timings of the fests are so unimaginable. They don't inform you about anything on time.

Mesmerized by the campus, disappointed by the faculty members.
Placements: No placement was given to previous students and there will be no placement for this year's students because there is no placement cell for B.Sc. students. Placements are only for masters students which is also very difficult to get and most of the time they don't get it.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are well-ventilated. There are smart classes with Wi-Fi. The library has 98% of books that are recommended by the professors. The food in the mess is very good. They have a good variety of food. The canteen is expensive. There is a medical facility which is average.
Faculty: Not all teachers are good. They are extremely qualified and knowledgeable. The course curriculum is relevant and makes students industry-ready to some extent. Exams are medium as per me. The passing marks is more than 70%.
Other: I love medical biology and microorganisms and this course lets me study these aspects. This course lets you study a variety of things that you use in your daily life and can change your perspective of your surrounding things. The changes I would like in this course are the hectic schedule and not enough breaks. In a year only one event is conducted from the biotechnology department, but there are many fests from different departments.

Absolutely satisfied and happy to get into this college. Waiting for placements as of now.
Placements: The college does have a placement cell but the placement rate is very competitive as of now. Many companies visit for hiring but the average package is around 2.5 LPA to 7 LPA. Rarely students get high packages. High profile companies visit here.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is very good and all the classrooms and other facilities are up to the mark. Even the canteen is well maintained with good food. The college has a well-equipped air conditioned library which helps students to sit and study for long hours without any disturbance.
Faculty: Faculty is very experienced and they have high end education background. Most of the faculty members are industry experts and they always have a helping attitude towards students. The exams are also very well-set. The pass percentage is also good. Students are keen to seek knowledge.
Other: The college has N number of fests and events which a student would really enjoy. Due to the vast campus, it has a pleasant atmosphere around the campus.

Absolutely dissatisfied with the college.
Placements:
There is no placement in this college. Students from IT background are not given any placement which is affecting the students. No placements and internships are provided. It is a bad college.
Infrastructure: There is always shortage of books in the library. Librarian doesn’t have manners to talk. For getting railway concession, we have to stand in long queues but they are too rude. Our department should understand us. Just making the infra bigger is not enough.
Faculty: Faculty is not good and they provide only bookish knowledge. No extra part is taught to us. They should improve the teaching process. Students should be treated equally. Just cultural fests are not enough. A lame college with no placement. Only maintaining attendance won’t make students learn new concepts.

Great college with great opportunities.
Placements: About 20-30% of students who had opted for placements got selected. The highest package was for 12 LPA, and the average is about 5 LPA, with the minimum being 3 LPA. Companies like TCS, Mahindra, and Cognizant come. All students have opportunities to apply for internships, but it is on the students whether they apply or not, and most of the ones applying get the internship (paid or unpaid).
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is the best. Wi-Fi is available throughout the campus. Classrooms are fully air-conditioned, and the four libraries on the campus are also the best in class. The hostel, from what I heard, is a bit costly but is good for the price. The mess and canteen food are also delicious, but sometimes a bit oily. Medical facilities are also available, and we have big grounds and a dedicated sports complex.
Faculty: The faculty are very helpful and knowledgeable. The courses are also very future-proof. We are also given projects from the first year to the last year to develop our skills. The semester exams' difficulty, I would say, is above average—not too difficult but also not easy.
Other: The course is good, and it has special subjects like cybersecurity and data science included in it. I would personally prefer some more hands-on learning, though. The events and fests are okay. There are many opportunities for scholarships and extracurricular activities. The alumni are also very friendly and helpful.
