Financial Aid
Financial Aid is available to students at the entry level while applying for admission to a programme under any of the SVU institutes. It is based on academics, extracurricular activities and other criteria as prescribed. The financial aid will apply to the entire course duration. The below mentioned are the criteria:
- EWS/BPL: Applicants with family income up to ₹8,00,000 are eligible for financial Aid up to 100% concession on the tuition fees.
- PWD: Applicants with benchmark disabilities (40% or more) are eligible for a 50% concession on the tuition fees.
- Defence Personnel: Wards of defence personnel disabled or deceased in the line of duty may receive a 50% concession on the tuition fees.
Selection Process
The selection process will follow the procedure mentioned below to avail of scholarships:
- Submission: The financial aid application is part of the course application on somaiya.edu. Applicants must indicate their interest in financial aid, and if selected, they will be asked to upload the required documents.
- Screening: All submitted applications will be reviewed and screened based on the eligibility criteria.
- Evaluation: Applicants found eligible after the screening will go through an interview round. Scrutiny/ verification of documents will be done as per the requirements

Placements: Students from the department of M.Sc. Statistics got hire in various sectors like analytics, marketing and banking. Fractal Analytics, MU Sigma, Wipro are consistent recruiters from the college of S K Somaiya College. The highest pay would be 6.2 LPA for our department.
Placements: No placement was given to previous students and there will be no placement for this year's students because there is no placement cell for B.Sc. students. Placements are only for masters students which is also very difficult to get and most of the time they don't get it.
Placements: About 20-30% of students who had opted for placements got selected. The highest package was for 12 LPA, and the average is about 5 LPA, with the minimum being 3 LPA. Companies like TCS, Mahindra, and Cognizant come. All students have opportunities to apply for internships, but it is on the students whether they apply or not, and most of the ones applying get the internship (paid or unpaid).
Placements: We did not get any placements for the Bachelors in Biotechnology even though it was an honours degree, but we did have placements for the Masters students, which I am not very sure about. However, you can get roles such as researchers, junior analysts, laboratory assistants, and much more.
Placements: The percentage of people placed into companies from my class was no more than 15%. The average package was around 3 LPA. No internships were provided from college, and even if we find internships ourselves, they don't allow it as it may reduce our attendance.
Placements: I recently graduated with a degree in Computer Science Hons. from Somaiya Vidyavihar University’s batch of 2021-2024. I do not recommend SK Somaiya College to anyone who wants to get placed in top recruiting companies. We barely had a placements drive, I do not recall any top company coming into our college for placements. They did not conduct a walk-in placements drive. There were only 2-3 companies who were ready to give 2-2.5 LPA, the companies were all startup based. Not even a single studen...

Direct admission is not available at Somaiya School of Basic and Applied Sciences. Admissions are strictly based on merit through entrance exams & academic performance. Students must qualify through CUET UG, CUET PG or Somaiya Vidyavihar University Entrance Test (SVUET).
